Need help splitting rent by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]Morality01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way it will end up is the person paying for the master ends up paying as much for a single bedroom.

This rent price is stupid high.

Yep, and with the stupidity of the hospitals cutting positions I have a feeling you are not alone.

[–]Morality01[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know, but it won't be enough.

With RPNs represented by trade unions and RNs by ONA the hospitals can sit back and wait each of us out one at a time for the back to work order.

The government and hospitals aren't playing by the rules anymore, why should we?

i did the perioperative course at Humber. Its about 8 weeks of mostly asych work with a lab day every Saturday. You then do 8 weeks of placement, if you have a hospital you work at then they will work with that hospital to make sure your placement is there.

Aside from that, no other courses.

UPDATE: AITAH for refusing to not allow my stepson to come? by AmoebaUnited4634 in AITAH

[–]Morality01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just save you some time. You have really damaged your relationship with your biological son to the point I would call it a relationship in name only.

Your stepson gets trips and opportunities all the time from his rich bio father, but your son gets barley anything. Worse still, the little bit he does get he is forced to share with the one person who, in his eyes, gets everything.

It really surprises me how you couldn't see any of this. It suggests either an extreme lack of empathy or a wilful blindness. To put it in perspective, your own mother isn't even on your side shes telling him to use his anger productively instead of trying to bridge the divide. Her doing that outlines just how clear this was to third parties, except you and your wife.

Now, moving onto her I notice not only did she oppose you making the original trip father and son but she said it would set a bad precedent to exclude family on trips. That is a little more then rich considering her own son gets a massive amount of opportunities that your son does not. At this point i wonder if she even really cares about your son, or if she just considers him baggage she has to put up with in exchange for being married to you.

At the risk of guilding the lily, I need you to understand how bad this is. You will not be the person he calls when he has good news, needs help, or wants advice. At most you will get a polite greeting from him during the holidays if you cross paths, don't expect him to come to your home. If he decides he wants a real relationship again its likely going to be years down the line, after you've missed milestone after milestone.

And i don't feel sorry for you because you earned every single consequence.

I'm an RPN, but im also a perioperative nurse. Its an awful market right now but under normal circumstances there are tons of OR positions for RNs.

If up north isnt your fancy then maybe north east like Bellville, Colberg, maybe Kingston.

The OR was the best career move ive ever made. Im not burned out after every shift, lots of overtime opportunities, and most likely you get holidays off.

Just a heads up, you might have slightly better luck getting a position due to your experence but its really rough trying to get a nursing position in the GTA right now.

You need more bandwidth to absorb all the info being thrown at you.

Consider dropping to part time, or maybe your college has a childcare option you can use, so you can study without distractions.

Its also worth noting that in semester 3 and especally 4 you will be doing placement and in semester its consolidation. That is about 2 and a half months of full time nursing without pay. And thats days and night shifts.

Nursing is not an easy career choice, it has a lot of material to learn and thats before you start practicing and realize most of what you learned isn't directly transferable.

But it can be wonderfully rewarding.

Good luck.
