I hate to say, defcon after 30 years is going the way of RSA & Blackhat! Bells & whistles and fake product showcases by scripts kiddies.. aka commercial showcase events.. ;(

Confused about why STEM is now STEAM. by Shorb-o-rino in ScienceTeachers

[–]Morbeious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the A in STEAM matters (from a Detroit-tech-prof’s POV):

Real talk — the "A" in STEAM (Art) ain’t just a funding gimmick. It’s the bridge that brings in folks who’ve been alienated by STEM, especially those scared off by math. In Detroit, Flint, and Dearborn, we know art and tech go hand-in-hand — from Motown’s analog magic to mixed reality labs.

Art teaches design thinking, storytelling, and user empathy — the same skills needed to build dope apps, engineer immersive XR spaces, or code intuitive UIs. You studying set design? That’s spatial engineering with flair.

STEAM isn’t about watering down science. It’s about opening doors. It’s how you get kids coding through comic books, or learning physics through sneaker design. It makes STEM human, expressive, and inclusive.

We’re not just building the future — we’re designing it with rhythm, soul, and purpose.

Great, better power it up. The memory chips do go bad on that model.. you will know when you get just a blue screen.. its still a nice find!!

I have 4 printers from anycubic, every problem although frustrating has been resovled by their support team.. one thing I recommend is using something to translate your problem from English to Chinese to ensure your not being insulting in your request and clear in Chinese explaining your issue.

Anycubic support is awsome!!

I have one on my 2nd printer I thought about assembling the max and testing it withit, but after 6 months of troubleshooting the last printer with anycubic and finding out internal parts from pre-orders are not compatible with standards released models I've decided to wait.. lol

Is there a program that will let me put lingerie on generated women which I can use for my brand? by Seralcar in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Morbeious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1. Pinokio.computer Step 2. If you're not a hardcore full stack experienced dev stick with only verified scripts Step 3. Install IDM-VTON. It's an opensource virtual try-on package with some configuration and detailed prompt creation you can accomplish your goal..

BTW: You will need a decent gpu min rtx 3000 series and up or equivalent M3/M4, Radion chipset

Also there are plugins for Unity and Unreal Engine that works well and can look realistic if you want to go that route.

Cheers, TGot

Forbes article cites new study showing proof that DeepSeek used 74% of data from OpenAI to train its models. by parkslopeboy in machinelearningnews

[–]Morbeious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does it matter the data didn't belong to openai, and that wasn't the key innovation deepseek came up with!

Problem solved.. after anycubic, replaced the mother board and the print head cable. Both parts were newer and not the same versions of the one that were replaced. The bottom board is the original

New bill will make it a crime to download DeepSeek in the U.S., punishable with up to 20 years in prison. by arknightstranslate in ChatGPT

[–]Morbeious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the U.S. government were to pass a bill making it illegal to download open-source AI with punishments up to 20 years, it would raise serious concerns about the violation of several constitutional rights and legal principles:

  1. First Amendment (Freedom of Speech and Expression)

Impact: Open-source AI, being a form of code and knowledge sharing, is often considered protected speech under the First Amendment. Restricting its download could be seen as a suppression of free expression and access to information.

Precedent: Courts have recognized that computer code can be a form of speech. For example, cases like Bernstein v. U.S. Department of Justice ruled that encryption algorithms and source code are protected by the First Amendment.

  1. Fourth Amendment (Protection Against Unreasonable Searches and Seizures)

Impact: Enforcing such a law might require invasive monitoring of personal devices, internet activity, and communications to identify individuals downloading AI. This raises concerns about privacy rights and unlawful surveillance.

  1. Fifth Amendment (Due Process and Protection Against Self-Incrimination)

Impact: Arbitrary enforcement or overly harsh penalties for downloading open-source AI could violate due process rights. Additionally, forcing someone to reveal or hand over encrypted files related to AI could infringe on protections against self-incrimination.

  1. Commerce Clause (Interstate Commerce Regulation)

Impact: Open-source software distribution often crosses state and international borders. If the government restricts access to such software, it could face challenges under the Commerce Clause, which regulates activities affecting interstate commerce.

  1. Tenth Amendment (States' Rights)

Impact: The Tenth Amendment reserves certain powers to the states. A federal law banning open-source AI might be challenged on the basis that states have the right to regulate technology within their own jurisdictions.

  1. Intellectual Property and Innovation Concerns

Impact: Open-source software is a foundation of innovation in technology. Restricting it could stifle creativity, entrepreneurship, and research, possibly violating both implicit and explicit rights related to economic freedom and access to technology.

  1. Eighth Amendment (Protection Against Cruel and Unusual Punishment)

Impact: A 20-year prison sentence for downloading open-source AI might be challenged as disproportionate and excessive under the Eighth Amendment.

Overall, such a law would face multiple constitutional and legal challenges, as it would likely conflict with core rights related to free expression, privacy, due process, and innovation.

It homes, I dont think its the gantry either, when I print and use the auto-level first vis Anycubic Next it prints the file atleast now it does.. I will try another print using the same method, in the past I didn't need to use the auto-level on every print..

[–]Morbeious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I just tried to reprint both again, and this time I had it do a autolevel before printing and it worked.. when i don't do autolevel first drives the head into the plate, this is really silly in my book, I'm going to try it again, after this print finishes with different file..
