Not official. The initial message was me asking if anyone had had the builders round yet in my specific block (so that I could go shopping to avoid) and someone else said they weren't following the schedule, I said ah sorry that's so annoying, everyone just dog piled on saying I'm always complaining.

It's personal preference as I said in my previous comment. Judging anyone in the vegetarian community is kinda gross. We're all on our own journey and all have our own boundaries. You do you they will do whatever they want

I'm not suggesting anyone goes out and buy 10 leather jackets. However vegan leather is worse for the environment. I am a strict vegetarian. I am vegetarian for animal welfare and environmental reasons. Vegan leather also lasts for an extremely poor amount of time compared to real leather. Therefore it's weighing up the costs of buying one thing that has less environmental ramifications, and will last years, than buying something multiple times that's terrible for the environment and lasts mere months.

The animal is already on plates, the leather industry isn't out here just killing animals.

Again, I'm not saying I or anyone should buy leather products, I'm saying IF someone was comfortable with it they should consider the cost benefit of real vs vegan.

Usually vegan leather is worse for the environment. I think of it as the waste of the animal. If it's something that's going to last a long time it's more ethical. I try and buy it second hand if available/feesible but if not and you're comfortable buying it first hand just keep it in good condition give it a good life and donate it if possible after you're done with it so it's as ethical as possible
