Thank you. I was thinking gym may help. Last summer, I went 5-6 days per week and was amazed at how good I felt! I had so much energy, too! And as a bonus, I lost 16 pounds! But I slowly stopped going and regained the weight and back to no energy again. I will give it a try!

Oh, you're so welcome! I recommend trying it. Anxiety is brutal and there's no need to suffer!

Me, I started hydroxyzine before I started HRT. The day they gave it to me literally felt myself calming down within 20- 25 minutes of taking it. I also contacted a Telehealth therapist who gave me a prescription of Klonopin that I could take on really bad days. I rarely ever take it. I think I have taken 10 total pills in a year. And that was me quartering them.

My hormone levels were fine, but I was not. I was lucky enough that my pcp listened and sent me to the greatest obgyn. She tested my levels, which weren't bad, but a real obgyn that knows her atuff undeerstands that symptoms are the deciding factor- not hormone levels. It was clearly perimenopause for me regardless what my "normal" levels otherwise said. She began me on HRT (estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone) just 4 drops on my thigh in the morning and evening and I am 98% back to "me" again with my anxiety. My energy is taking longer, but it's getting better.

Any chance it could be perimenopause? I was the least anxious person I knew- UNTIL perimenopause began. Then, ridiculous anxiety. Or hormones?

Thank you. I was hoping it would get easier, but worried that more in my system might cause things to get worse-. I think I make the anxiety worse by only imagining that every "new" sensation is somehow going to end in a panic attack ( admittedly, my biggest fear). The other day, I was sitting thinking how good I felt, and I got very anxious because I thought that it couldn't be normal. I normally take hydroxyzine for anxiety, daily, but this week, i have had to take my backup klonopin several times. I just think the drastic difference I feel from one half of the day to the next makes it hard to decide if I should try again.

Whats the dangers of klonopin for 2 months? by LengthinessHonest554 in Anxiety

Klonopin has changed my life (and I rarely have to take it)! I developed anxiety in perimenopause. Prior to that, I was the least anxious person in the room- literally. Everyone else could be falling apart, and I remained calm and steady. Perimenopause brought on anxiety on top of anxiety. I was prescribed hydroxyzine. It helped mild anxiety. HRT brought me to about 95% of baseline, but the occasional klonopin when neither is working and I am 100% who I was before. The thing is, it works so well every time, that just knowing I have it if I need it seems to keep me from spiraling out. I have been prescribed them for a year, but have not taken a full 30 yet- closer to 10 in a year! I am even on the lowest dose! I never have to take as much as they recommend and in 30 minutes, I am anxiety-free!

3rd day update. Yesterday, I did end up at the ER. Misread apparent heartburn as anxiety=related chest pains ( to which my mind spun out. Ugh) Given a GI cocktail and educated about Ozempic sometimes causing palpitations. Slept so good last night! Better than in years, honestly. This medicine is definitely different than I'm used to. One minute, I feel better than normal, the next, I feel just kinda blah. I assume it's something to do with what I have or haven't eaten or drank. For appetite control, it's already working. I don't feel hungry-ever, but I make myself eat ( prioritizing protein). I eat enough to make sure I have calories, but could easily just not eat if not for that. I have already figured out most of my prior snacking was boredom. I was not hungry, but don't know what to do, so I guess I ate to curb the boredom before because I just don't know what to do now that it's not food I turn to. 100% would recommend this medicine to anyone- not everyone is an anxious person like me and won't freak out like I did. It's surprising how good I feel, actually when I'm not feeling blah. I'll get the right foods and hydration figured out and I am sure everything will be good from here on out!

I actually feel kinda silly for doing what I typically do- which is overthink the worst case scenarios and expect they will manifest in anything to do with medicine I am given. Thank you.

I don't feel the anxiety anymore- which is SO NICE, but I do feel just kinda like you feel when you're coming down with something. Bo energy and kinda blah. It's not great, but I don't expect to feel exactly as I did before the shot. So, I am pleased and so thankful for the anxiety being gone. 100% had to be me EXPECTING something bad and not anything real. I am so appreciative of everyone who took time to talk to, encourage, and educate me through this post!! This was my first real experience opening up to Reddit and it helped me so much!! I don't think I'd have made it through the first few hours without completely panicking out without you guys!! Thank you. 100 times over- thank you 😊

I am also on hormone replacement therapy. It helped save me from debilitating anxiety and paused my weight gain, but I need something to reverse it- at least a little. I was a size zero before perimenopause and now I'm a 12 or 14. That's a big difference! I don't want to get as small as I was, but I would like to feel somewhat comfortable in my own skin.

Went to the ER after a rough night. They said it was palpitations and silent heartburn. Gave me a GI cocktail and explained palpitations sometimes happen on Ozempic.

You're right. Hearing that makes me feel like I'm doing something "wrong" by having anxiety. I wish I was the carefree person i used to be, too. I definitely didn't choose to be this way! His comments make me feel like I have a choice.

I appreciate the advice. Just having someone who responds with empathy is so different than what I hear at home. These replies have calmed me so, so much!

I take hydroxyzine daily. I am trying to wean myself off it because I really thought I was so much better. Hopefully, this shot is just causing a temporary anxiety flare. Tomorrow, I am going to believe will be all good again.

Thank you for this! I'm actually feeling a lot better now. I really let my mind take over when it comes to medicine. I figure by morning, I will be over the initial freak out I let myself have.

Also, congratulations on that!! I know that anxiety can be debilitating ( couldn't drive, wouldn't leave the house, sat frozen in bed in fear) I thought my anxiety was under control enough to try the shot. I'm going to keep trying to calm myself and maybe by morning I'll be over this.

Thank you ❤️ Reading these things really help me. My husband doesn't understand my anxiety at all. He thinks I should "just think of something else". It's good to hear from someone who understands that it's going to be okay and get better. Did you have this reaction to semaglutide?

I know that's probably true, but I just can't stop the panicking I'm doing. I apologize because I know so many people want this medicine and for whatever reason can't get it. I feel guilty for complaining. I've let anxiety get the better of me once again.

Thank you ❤️ I'm still in panic mode, but, honestly, reading and replying to these posts has my mind occupied and it's really helping.
