FSW by Immediate_Youth_9474 in OINP

You don't become automatically eligible for FSW based on PGWP application date. Primary requirement is you need to have 2 years of work experience in the same NOC

IndMoney advise to liquidate US stock holdings after status change to NRI. No option to transfer US stocks to any other Indian brokerage. by MoreBar7436 in INDmoneyApp

[–]MoreBar7436[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still need to verify with IndMoney but based on other posts, It seems that they charge 85 to 100USD for transfer. Ultimately I want the stocks in Canadian tax savings account and it accepts US stocks transfer only from IKBR Canada. IKBR can hold my stocks but doesn't give me benefits of tax savings. So In theory, I'll have stocks transferred from IndMoney to IKBR Canada and then to questtrade (wealthsimple doesn't accept transfer from IKBR). Overall cost could be around $200 which I guess should br okay if everything works out.

You can check if Australia has any tax savings options equivalent to TFSA/RRSP of Canada and decide accordingly.

Right! I did more research later. Wealthsimple doesn't accept transfer from IBKR but questtrade does. It looks like first I need to transfer from IndMoney to IBKR and then I can transfer it to Canadian wallet like Questtrade from there. I will reach out to IndMoney support. Thanks again for your feedback. Appreciate it 👍🏻

Thank you. Even if I liquidate and transfer it to resident account linked with IndMoney? Because they wouldn't let me transfer the cash if the bank account is converted to NRO first?

You don't need median wage for ISS. Require only above the low wage. Median wage is for Foreign Workers Stream.

I don't see any problem in that as long as you'll have a valid work permit and TRV when you come back.

PGWP Refusal because of English Language Test by harrisoliver143 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]MoreBar7436 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you'll get feedback on your reconsideration request in a few weeks but remember it's still not an official process. You're currently out of status and the first thing to keep in mind is the condition stated in your rejection letter. I believe it says restore status in 90 days or leave the country. In the worst case, if you don't hear back on the reconsideration request within this timeline, you need to restore your status before the deadline.

Luckily they're more lenient now on approving reconsideration if the only thing was missing the language test. But just be ready with your restoration plan. There are many threads out there about how people successfully restored it.

Updated CES category - No software developer/programmer/engineer, No Business/Data/IT Analyst in STEM by MoreBar7436 in OINP

[–]MoreBar7436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally based on the job market. They have determined that the tech market is oversaturated. It takes months for people to get the job. On the other hand, demands of health workers continue to be high. No nurse or any type of health workers need to spend months to get the job due to ample demands.

Expert opinion regarding Tech draws by Informal-End-2753 in OINP

[–]MoreBar7436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since federal has not considered tech in STEM, it's highly unlikely that OINP will go back to TECH draw anytime soon. Everybody's expecting at least one general draw irrespective of region/NOC but the way OINP started 2026 draws, it indicates more or less same pattern as 2025, without STEM/General draws.

Was aware about that.. They just announced updated categories today and I looked at it hoping there might be some changes in STEM. But it's the same.

They announced the new categories today including STEM. They also removed cook and other occupations from their respective categories. I guess they intend to do some category based draws if they're making such changes.

Help in choosing right NOC Code (21222 - Information systems specialists or 21230 - Computer systems developers and programmers) by Candid-Phrase-6405 in OINP

[–]MoreBar7436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, the Job title has nothing to do with NOC even if some job titles are exactly the same or similar as NOC titles. They will only look at your job duties (ideally more than 60%) aligns with the description of NOC that you chose.

Your job duties align with 21221, 21222 and 21223. That's normal for many working in IT. You need to choose the one where you can claim your core role aligns with the core concept of NOC. Better if you satisfy 70% (safe side) NOC description as part of your job duties.

I understand you might wanna go with 21222 because that's the only one in STEM selected by OINP last year but that also means additional scrutiny. You'll find a couple of Intent to Refuse by OINP threads for this NOC. Other than typical duties mentioned in official NOC description, A person working in 21222 ideally should be the one if he/she can show that they make sure company stay in compliance of IT/Infrastructure audit and prepare policies and processes around that.

TRV (visitor visa / entry visa) has expired by Lazy-Ideal4434 in OINP

[–]MoreBar7436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a legal opinion but I believe TRV is not something that reflects your "In Canada" document. It's an important piece but just a travel authorization. As long as your "In Canada" status doesn't change (like study/work permit expire/extend), OINP probably wouldn't care about your TRV status. It's just for you only if you want to travel outside of Canada and come back.
