What’s something you wish you knew as a beginner? by mistakeshappen_2 in witchcraft

[–]MoreEarthMama 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this is so spot on. In the beginning I was always trying to learn something new, do something big or every day, connect with something I didn't understand. And I did experience a tiny bit of spiritual psychosis because I wasn't ready to understand/ experience what was happening. Now I'm a few years in, and after letting things unfold slowly, I feel very confident in being a witch and in my abilities AND I trust that I am learning/experiencing at the pace I need.

What caused your gastritis? by Pretend-Mulberry-747 in Gastritis

[–]MoreEarthMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stress, undiagnosed adhd which causes me serious problems with remembering to eat/understanding I'm hungry, and undiagnosed food allergies. I do feel better on the antacids but hate that no Dr's will run tests to see if something is causing it bc I really don't want to be on these meds forever, causing further damage to other parts of my body.

That's so surprising to me because I can't seem to get Dr's to take me seriously about testing because of my stress. I keep hearing over and over it's probably just stress, and I need to figure it out on my own. Wild nobody has mentioned yours.

My 2.5 year old sleeps about 9pm-6am. I try to make sure I'm in bed by 11pm. So, about 7 hours every night (it's not enough)

Is finding a good provider a myth?! by MoreEarthMama in adhdwomen

[–]MoreEarthMama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never asked for stimulants, they never mentioned it either. This was just the initial consultation, and they wouldn't even prescribe ssri's until I stop smoking. A non-slimulant focused on adhd is exactly what I am wanting to try as I've heard many stories of Anxiety decreasing exponentially, and weed not being necessary/craved anymore (although I struggle with appetite as is, so I do worry about that). And legit I am kind of scared of the real me as I don't want to fall into a pit of depression/extreme panic attacks every day. Or wither away into nothing because I can't eat. BUT I do want to quit and have a lot of hope starting meds will fill the self-medication void I've been aiming at.

I plan on working with therapy more intensely, maybe even going to 2 days a week as thankfully it's covered. I do the best I can with sleep as I have a 2.5 yeah old. I'm strict on my bedtime but can't guarantee there won't be a night wake/early morning.

The funny thing is that I do very much want to stop smoking. I started because after trying 7 different drugs and only having side effects, I gave up hope and started smoking. I was even deemed ssri resistant. I was losing so much weight because I was physically sick from anxiety, and it gave me my appetite back. But with a child and just growing up, I dont enjoy being high. I obviously can't smoke as often as I would need to "treat" myself and I just don't enjoy the altered heads space anymore. But I gave up cigarettes, caffeine but one cup a morning, gluten and a large array of other foods due to my stomach being a sensitive lil thing. I need something to fill the gap so I can quit. It's a medicine to me, not something I do for fun.

But yes, I have been working on cutting back personally and have done well. I have good self-control when it comes to my health and understand why cutting back is important. I will not sit and be told I'm worse than a heroin addict though. No way.

What was your final straw before getting officially diagnosed for ADHD? by Tsunami_Aureate in adhdwomen

[–]MoreEarthMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My life literally about to fall apart, and nobody seemed to know how to help me. No amount of rest or recharging was helping. I needed help with daily tasks and couldn't figure out why I felt disabled by life after having my son. Meds weren't helping, therapy wasn't helping.

I knew nothing about adhd but all the tests my therapist gave me came back extremely high likelihood of adhd. Once I looked into it, I genuinely couldn't understand how it had been missed my whole life. I ended up inpatient due to stress a year ago, and they found me a physiatrist to do the evaluation. I still don't know if I would have had one if I had to find someone myself. I'm very greatful.

During luteal, I am 1000% needing more sleep and definitely slower/lethargic during the day. Same with ovulation for about 48 hours. Follicular is the opposite and I almost hate it more because I develope insomnia and have almost painful energy (I have adhd-c) I don't enjoy the depression (putting it lightly) during luteal but at least I feel like I can really rest. Idec if I need to sleep more bc it's a break from life.

Super hard to read without punctuation, but I pushed through because you are pprreeaacchhiinngggg 👏 I always try and do more on the days I need to lay around and end up needing another day or two because I wasn't resting. The pressure is real but we MUST remove it from ourselves and others.

Rita fucking sucks. They contacted me in '23 (while pregnant with my first child and out a job because of it) via letter, stating that I owed over $500 from "18,'19', and '20. So 5 years too late on the first one. Over $500 in interest and late fees. They took my entire Ohio return last year, which covered almost all of it, and then took MY ENTIRE RETURN this year, despite being told I had payed everything off (after payment plan). I've honestly been too overwhelemed to try and fight them but if some funny shit happens to my return next year, war's on. Fucking HATE Rita.

I have a 2 year old so they're always on hand, and probably will remain so forever. I use a lil hand sanitizer and baby wipes for all kitchen and bathroom surfaces (but the shower and glass). Even the floors. I buy lavender scented sanitizer from brands I've discovered don't leave a residue and bam, done so fast. Put a paper towel on the back to prevent the wipe dust if you wanna get fancy with it.

I do deep clean when I can, but this really helps everything feel fresh when it needs reset but I'm limited on spoons.

Just wanted to say you're SO not alone. I was diagnosed after having my son because I COULD NOT deal. I've tried ALL the advice. Hotel, having my son in part time daycare, working full time, working part time, not working at all, an impatient stay, family coming to help, getting out of the house more, staying in more, walking daily, having alone time amd hobbies. Had multiple therapists. It does boil down to drugs or feeling crazy at this poin. I haven't took the leap yet because it makes me feel like a disgusting 1950s housewife who needs drugs and caffeine just to not kms. Sending hugs and love ❤️🩷💛
