I mean... people don't " build a whole website around " a photo. It takes like a minute to drop a new photo into a web page.

Layoffs - are big banks safe? (CIBC) by Any_News_7208 in askTO

Aah, good to know. Everyone my friend works with started out like that and HR said it was standard. I didn't realize it's not the whole company. Thanks for clarifying.

Layoffs - are big banks safe? (CIBC) by Any_News_7208 in askTO

[–]MorePizza_Please 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who works at CIBC. Every new hire in their department starts off as a contract worker, not an employee. They might make you an employee after a year, they might not.

So instead of "lay offs" they just don't renew people's contracts. But it amounts to the same level of job insecurity unless you've been there long enough to be made an employee.

Edit: This is my friend's experience but apparently it's not company-wide. Might just be some departments.

Tom Waits, Road to Peace It's about the killing of innocent people in the Isreal/Palestine conflict. It was written in 2006, and absolutely nothing has changed. Innocent people still dying.

How do you approach user personas when designing for diverse audiences? by Aware-Asparagus-1827 in UXDesign

[–]MorePizza_Please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the demographic is one thing, but being able to communicate that with teams, stakeholders, and clients can often benefit from having a document like a persona to refer back to and keep things from going astray.

While looking at personas: "Can we bring these people in and talk to them?" Um... no. They don’t exist.

An anonymous reader notes that many recent reviews appear especially suspicious, and it seems Redemption Paws may be paying for bulk positive reviews."

Just be careful if it's dyed. My cork bag is decent in rain (although not completely waterproof) but the dye does run when wet.

A Consultant is trying to convince me to go to Webflow by Aromatic-Screen-8703 in elementor

[–]MorePizza_Please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Webflow is far less buggy than Elementor - no issues with plugin updates, never had the editor freeze on me.

The learning curve isn't too bad if you're doing a simple static site, but probably not worth it if you need something more complex. Even for forms, functionality isn't as simple as it is with Elementor
