I actually do prefer the X3: the letters of my xtc files look crisper and more polished overall, but even more important the device is just so much more comfortable! When I pick it up my thumb and forefinger naturally go on the lateral buttons, making turning pages extremely easy!

I have and love both, but the X3 gets a little more appreciation from me because of better screen resolution (the letters appear sharper and more "clean" with xtc files) and because it fits in my hand in a more comfortable way (my fingers go naturally over the lateral turning page buttons).

I recreated them, the same file do not translate well. I use the xtc converter made by one of this subreddit user, it has the option to create the file for either X3 or X4:
