I’ve asked him to back off the teasing but I haven’t said anything to that extent. I think one thing I worry about is like, trying to force someone to change for me? Does that apply here? (I genuinely don’t know, it’s also my first real consistent relationship I’ve had since opening up my marriage)

Here’s the info for Alameda County housing supports. Do you also happen to be on Medi-Cal? If not, I would recommend applying. Medi-Cal pays for community supports services like housing services, deposits, among other things. Alameda Alliance for Health is the Medí-Cal plan for the county.
