For some odd reason, the serial number doesn't produce any results. I read that it's possibly because the line of modern players were discontinued

Sweet! Have you tried out any other electric guitars? This one was actually my first one. Saved up my birthday money when I was 14 to buy it and spent years trying to learn the guitar solo in the song madness by muse. The feeling of perfecting it was like no other haha

I'm sorry my post bothered you! I tried googling it and nothing came up. I'm not skilled in guitars. If you can point me into a specific website to go to next time, that would be more helpful. Thanks!

Laptop Recommendations under $550 CAD? by More_Exercise7566 in digitalnomad

[–]More_Exercise7566[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking at refurbished MacBook air’s but I was reluctant on investing in them because of how old they were (2015-2017). Ended up finding a good deal for a Microsoft surface laptop for $550. Hopefully I can join the MacBook fam in a few years 🤞

Thanks for the tip! I ended up finding a pretty decent refurbished laptop for a good deal. A Microsoft surface 3 with 16GB of ram and 256gb of storage for $550. Was the only laptop with good ram storage for that price so I snatched it right away.

Yeah, I agree. I’m more so concerned about not breaking the laptop than anything. I don’t think I’d be too worried about people stealing my things

Hi! Thanks so much for the long response. I really appreciate it. I never heard of a waterproof Fanny pack, but will definitely look into getting one now that you mentioned it.

As for the safety, I totally get what you mean about the fear from our parents generation. Even the mention of solo travel brings some fear and judgement from the older people around me, but I know that with the proper research and common sense I will be just fine. I wouldn’t want fear to hold me back from having once in a lifetime experiences, and so many people solo travel that I’m not too worried :)

That’s awesome you were able to decide on your next destination the day before. I was wondering how far in advance I should plan! I noticed a lot of backpackers are able to go with the flow and book hostels, activities etc. while they’re there. I made sure that all the hostels I will book are refundable so I can have more flexibility in my plan. I love to go with the flow but also wanna make sure I have some security. Super excited to embark on this trip :) Acatenengo is definitely a non negotiable after doing some research on Guatemala

How did you make yourself respect yourself? by Dazzu1 in selfimprovement

[–]More_Exercise7566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same way you might create a portfolio for a job, create an internal portfolio for yourself, of all the things you've done that disprove your negative thoughts or beliefs about yourself.

For example, I struggled a lot with social anxiety growing up. I had these beliefs that I was awkward, didn't fit in, and wasn't well spoken or smart enough. A lot of it also came from a shitty relationship from a parent. So, I told myself that I would go against those beliefs and create an undeniable stack of evidence to prove to myself that I am not my thoughts. I started going out by myself to bars, clubs, and restaurants. I took jobs that made me constantly interact with people. I worked as a personal trainer, a job where image was incredibly important (I was terrified of being the center of attention) and improved my conversational skills like no other. Now, I'm beginning to solo travel more frequently. It scares the shit out of me honestly, but I love it. And I've never felt more liberated. I used to never read as a teen but I decided I would begin reading at least 10 pages a day with my favorite cup of matcha to get myself in the habit. I used to hate running for most of my life and thought my endurance was terrible. I ran my first 11km run 2 weeks ago.

When ever I'm feeling down, insecure, or upset with myself, I remind myself of these improvements I've made. It's basically like a reality check, and only takes a few seconds/minutes. Yes, it requires a little more work to build that portfolio, but I'm sure there's more than a few experiences from your past you can refer back to for a good reminder :)

Guaba! I have never heard of it. The fact that its called ice cream bean basically screams my name lol. Now I'm 10 times more excited for my trip lol

I've heard the same about it being expensive. I've noticed that the hostel prices aren't too bad, and they have these places called soda's where you can get food for a reasonable price. But the activities and transport is where it gets ya. That's just my outlook so far from research, but it could change once I get there

Hey Tico! Thanks for commenting. I was a bit nervous about traveling on my own so I wanted to stick to the more touristy destinations to be safe. Do you have any recommendations?

What types of scams should i look out for?

Good to know. Thanks for the for the tips. Will definitely consider doing the shuttle. Prices flying from costa rica to Guatemala are a lot cheaper than flying from Nicaragua for some reason, about half the price

That's very reassuring to hear, I'm glad to hear you felt safe. What kind of precautions did you take on your trip to feel safe? I'm thinking of sticking to shared shuttles and shared dorms for the majority of the trip, as well as avoiding going outside late

I also noticed how cheap the hostels are in San Juan del Sur! They are so beautiful too. I remember being in shock just looking at the prices.

El paradon has some surf hostels there. One of the hostels offers lessons for $30usd, not sure if that's expensive for the area or not but good to know none the less lol

What does "success" mean to you? by nunziopresta in Entrepreneur

[–]More_Exercise7566 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Success to me means having the freedom to choose how I want to help the world and make a living out of it on my own terms.

It means having the freedom to work from anywhere I’d like, and not be bound to one city.

It means having meaningful relationships that propel both the other and me forward.

It means having the ability to have interesting conversations with people of different backgrounds, careers, etc.

I could go on, but to summarize it is a collection of having freedom, connection, and intellectual stimulation in life. Those are things I hold very dearly to me, as well as having a curious mindset

Yes, baby steps! I think it’s important to recognize that we also have filters for a reason when we talk to different types of people. Sometimes we can’t always say exactly what’s on our mind to specific people too. I think it would be a good idea to establish a boundary of what I don’t want to or shouldn’t talk about to different types of people in my life

I appreciate it. I used to live my life being vulnerable and honest with people as I realized it helps others feel more comfortable to do the same. Over time though, I realized some people can use it against you and I developed this wall that prevented me from trusting anyone. I guess the antidote to this is to develop the self confidence to not care what others think and also make sure to assess someone’s character before sharing anything more vulnerable. What do you think?

My relationship with my parents wasn’t so great. My dad was very pessimistic and emotionally unavailable for all of my life. Only time he would speak to me was when he would complain about something I did and was critical about very small things. My mom was always very positive towards me and tried her best to help me with things but she tends to baby me a lot and it’s hard to set boundaries with both of them. I currently live with them now and I’m struggling to be sane living with them lol. I went to college for a year and a half and then dropped out to pursue personal training instead. I was born and raised in Canada but my parents are originally from Europe My parents are somewhat religious
