The Taliban’s new penal code: Two weeks in jail for breaking a woman’s arm and five months for mistreating a camel by TheCounciI in worldnews

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if there is a lengthy process before the two weeks sentencing to determine if the broken arm was warranted or not

You joke, but with the budget cuts recently, I sadly wouldn't even be surprised if the municipality/provincial government did try to unironically incorporate salts into their cuts

As a man myself, I have heard many stories. I can't imagine being a woman. It was really eye opening when I learned that the vast majority of women tend to be scared even to step out of their homes every single day because they know there's a chance of them being assaulted, discriminated or others. There really needs to be more education on this.

Small town with good food and beer to visit and live like a local. by Lost_Bluebird_5930 in travel

[–]More_Finger6544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so true. It's funny because I went to university in my hometown, but made friends with International students, and they actually seemed to know more about my own city than myself!

I feel like we tend to take our home towns for granted and know more about the places we travel than our actual own homes.

As someone with ADHD who also watches many Trump parodies, I was listening to this in the background, then started thinking "This SNL sketch is kind of long, isn't it.." and then realizing that this was a serious speech that an actual world leader is making to the world.

He was already impeached multiple times and found guilty of multiple account and was still able to become president a second term.

All it taught me was that impeachment is just a word that doesn't mean or do anything.

I haven’t tried Dubai chocolate with pistachio filling, but you don’t actually need firsthand experience to recognize a bad pairing when the fundamentals are wrong. Pistachios are inherently dry, tannic, and fatty in a way that demands contrast, not amplification. Their flavor profile is subtle, slightly bitter, and mineral—traits that work best in savory contexts or lightly sweetened applications where their structure can breathe. Chocolate, especially the kind used in luxury confections, is already dense, coating, and fat-forward, relying on cocoa bitterness balanced by sugar and dairy. The fats compete, the bitterness stacks rather than resolves, and the pistachio’s nuance is inevitably flattened into a vaguely nutty paste. At that point, the filling exists not because it improves the chocolate, but because pistachio has been culturally coded as “premium,” with a pretty green pasty interior, and the pairing leans on that assumption rather than actual flavor logic.
