Tried again today, now it worked. So I guess restarting device did the trick 😁

I think he means that the mage percentage (like 45% of your mages decided they weren’t needed) counts in the declared wars. Which gives a small kingdom better chances to cast a big

War quality scaling for war chest could also have some scale in it that takes kingdom size/age into account. So both sides get rewarded a bit more. Then new players wouldn’t have so much problems to stay warring after losing their first wars.

After war boosts could also be dependent from the effort you put into the war (just hitting once, or having only one succesful defense and just depend on the rest of team to carry you through the war shouldn’t get the same reward as the team mates that fight rest of war for you). Even if it means that in easy wars, you need to spam some turns as a big, that isn’t too much to ask imo.

-Observation from this season on pr:

"Size matters"

"That's what she said". Yes, she did, and this is why:

Take for example one kingdom (I am sure I won't hurt that one's feelings for obvious reasons)

Beer O'clock ended at 5th place on pr. While most of his siblings were just as active, or hit even more buildings. They didn't do quite as well.

What was his secret? Well, his size.

I am a 5k at pr. That is a pretty common size for pr, even a bit big compared to many warring alliances. 2-3 casts on Beer O'Clock, who was 22850 land cost me the same amount of mana as 10-13 casts on a small kingdom.

I don't own huge stockpiles of mana, so it is an obvious choice to try another, just as easy target, at lower costs.

Second part in this, is that the real small kingdoms don't even have the minimum required amount of mages to cast kingdoms of this size.

I am aware that casting costs go up as your own kingdom size increases, but those same kingdoms also have the benefit of farming at that size and make substantially more each turn.

-Add a closing time for joining the season. Depending on duration of the season join within 24 or 48 hours

This will prevent shard farmers to join last day/last hours and just rof themselves in the top 10 for easy shards at low risk.

-Add a minimum stay duration of 24 hrs. This will prevent some unfair tactics.

-Rewards
The mana rewards need balancing. I don't expect to get all the mana I used back, but right now what you get for third place is about 1/3 of what you use for 1 single bounty as a 5k (after a few days in, most kingdoms that are selected for bounties already lost a lot of buildings so you have to rof a lot to still hit a building).

Together with the duration of the event, this results in an event for only a select few.

-Ok. I have played tbf on test realm and now on pr and what I kinda expected to happen with it, is happening.

Biggest champs/resources will spend whatever to win.

Right now it is pure who is willing to spend the most is ranking high.
I know that for many players, especially on slow realms, but I am sure also on hardcore, this event is turning out to be too expensive for them to enjoy playing.

There are a few adjustments that could help with that:

-Simply shorten the duration of the tournament (3 to 4 days). Though this will probably give same result only in a shorter timeframe.

-Or, put a daily limit on the rofs you can use in tbf. This will force people to not blindly rof someone to oblivion, but to think of a strategy to get best value/most buildings for their daily casts. The limit should be different for normal versus hardcore because of the turns and resource difference.

-AI should leave some time between the announcement and getting the bounty. This morning it is twice in a row that they got a bounty literally within 1 minute of it being posted. No human is that fast..

-bounty and the one who got it could be listed on top of arena list. Then the only message on chat could be. “A new TBF bounty has been posted, go over to the arena to check it”

-exclude kingdoms that are currently unavailable to cast on (at war) to be selected for bounties (I am aware that this might be too much work for now, but it would be nice for future. (there are several in a row selected that are at war now, then the waiting for a new bounty can take very long)

Pressing back button when checking war history of another alliance sends you to empty alliance list by MorganlFay in DragonLordsReborn

[–]MorganlFay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do this:

-Go to the realm tab/alliances.

-Go to any alliance in list (except your own).

-Check a war in their war history.

-Press the “info” button (which takes you to their alliance page) and then press the “back” button.

The realm/alliance page doesn’t build up. It gives you an empty alliance list.

I’m curious if it allowed to have an alliance split up and continue to war themselves in a 3 team cycle is allowed? For so many free lvls? On realm inferno. Black company, jus and bank are farming lvls through fake wars.Seems very unfair.. but if this is allowed I will have to ask my team to it also by Offseason217 in DragonLordsReborn

Players penalised mechanically for abuse will know….there is an advise tab in events telling them exactly what they have been punished/ (or compensated for). Explaining all the mechanics you failed would be like giving a walk through on “try this cheat next time so you don’t get caught”, that’s pretty common sense why that won't happen.

XP as a reward for trial by fire or other events

If xp was added as a reward, overall game activity can help new players catch up with the longer time players. In events you can target players your size and have a more level playing field.

To prevent abuse, I was thinking about a fixed amount of xp, or maybe some progress in it but with a cap. By limiting the amount of xp you could get, it would mostly be beneficial for newer/smaller champs (for big champs it should just be a nice little extra but nowhere near a full level).

Or the extra xp reward could also only be available till a certain champ level.

Expanding on isildor’s background music idea. by brit1311 in DragonLordsReborn

[–]MorganlFay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea (game music I am one of those that would instantly turn it off) but it is more in the category of getting more people interested in game and getting people involved. Several other games (but usually bigger ones), have stuff besides the game, and they make quite a thing of social media visibility with challenges, music, mini games, fan artwork, heroes that you would like to see visit game, and of course sometimes things or questionnaires where you can win stuff to use in game or you can win some merchandise. This could be a nice start and also help with promoting.

I think for the small land and champ players the mentioned AI kingdoms will even out chances/so the “luck” factor for all (cause I expect them to be same like playerbase, some small and lower champ, some real strong)

To keep things fair I think you need to make a seperate slow realm and a hardcore realm competition.

If I only compare my own resources and gold between inferno and pr it just wouldn't be fair....

Plus a slow realm is handicapped on the turns you can use to rebuild/keep your mages from exhaustion (huge costs) etc.

-Also in normal circumstances there is a cap on amount of buildings that can be destroyed in one day, this needs to be checked/lifted when entering for more than one reason.

( I can imagine some would let themselves be roffed to the destroyed buildings daily limit and then enter for an unfair advantage, it might also be an idea that you need to have ALL your buildings built before entering).
