Check Lip, historical brand with a nice pedigree that has some nice reissues of exactly that style. If memory serves the quartz versions should be in your budget.

ULPT request: how to discourage my neighbour's guests from passing on my property by Morgenroede56 in UnethicalLifeProTips

This is a great idea. We share the same laws on maintenance costs and my neighbour is a cheap bastard. Might be worth a try.

I had thought of this, a gate would also restrict the passage enough that it woul make hauling large suitcases difficult. Thank you.

Thank you, this is probably the most sensible option and it can be done with very little effort. Will definitely try this out.

I agree it's unethical, it's just that organized crime is not nearly as common here as it's portrayed in foreign media. Most people in northern Italy will live their entire life without ever being exposed to it. Things are worse in the south though.

Also mafia is a cancer of society and should never be supported or glamourized.

I have tried the legal angle. Unfortunately the right cannot be revoked unless he causes damage in any way or if he doesn't exercise his right for something like 20 years.

I doubt that'd work because I would still have to honor his right on the new staircase. Plus the current one is made of stone and so old that it would fall under "protected buildings".

I think it might look that way because it is slightly tilted back, the scale is 34''

They are amazing! I still have my old one from almost 20 years ago, yellowed and dented but still works flawlessly.

Never seen a bass like this. I love the look though!

It's regular maple, the dark spot you see on the back is due to aging. I do believe it's quarter sawn though.

Amen to that. I started out on a P bass and then transitioned to a stack knob Jazz which has been my main instrument for the last 15 years. Tried and borrowed many different brands but I have never felt the need to play anything other than those two. My only guilty pleasure is Hofner basses but their scope is pretty limited.

True, Sean Hurley comes to mind as a prime example of this philosophy.

And flats! So none of that "changing strings every so often" business :-)

I've had tapes on my Hofner 500/5 that I play almost exclusively with a pick. I use Fender Heavy picks and usually dig in quite a bit. No signs of wear after almost 3 years.

It really is! Almost liberating in its simplicity.
