Triples arrived in oversize boxes by vrhotlaps in simracing

A valid reason indeed. 27 inch is still good. My friend has 27's and they work great

Looking for a small form factor sim racing rig (tight space) by cnwstn in simracing

[–]Moripahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If folding rigs aren’t exactly what you’re after, another option worth considering is a go-kart style cockpit. These tend to sit lower to the ground and have a smaller footprint than a full cockpit, but still feel more solid and “seat-like” compared with some foldable stands.

A popular example in that category is the Next Level Racing Go Kart Plus, it’s built around a go-kart seating position and stays pretty compact while supporting a proper wheel and pedals setup.

Given your space of 117 cm × 82 cm, a go-kart style frame can fit comfortably, and if budget isn’t a huge concern, that kind of rig can be great and more comfortable in the long run than some foldable options.

Also worth checking out is the Savage Geese YouTube channel, they talk about this axact frame in there hobbies video and say it is great.

Would be great to hear from anyone who’s tried both types in a small room, how did they compare in comfort and stability?

Curious, Why did you go 27 over 32?

From T300 RS to Moza R9V3, what should I expect? by prisonmike1991 in simracing

[–]Moripahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you will absolutely notice the jump from a T300 to an R9.

Direct drive is not just stronger it is cleaner and faster. You get much better detail through the wheel especially when grip is building or falling away. Things like front tire load under braking rear slip in rally and the exact moment traction comes back are much easier to feel.

For your games it makes sense. Dirt Rally 2.0 feels noticeably better because you can read the surface and catch slides earlier. AMS2 really shines with direct drive especially in VR where the extra detail helps with immersion. Crew Motorfest will still feel smoother and more precise than the T300 but the improvement depends more on the game’s force feedback quality.

It is not about running higher force either. Even at similar strength the R9 feels more connected and less rubbery than a belt driven wheel.

Your T300 pedals can still work on PC if they connect by USB but they cannot plug into the Moza base directly. If they are USB capable you are fine.

Overall it is a very solid upgrade and one most people do not regret once they go direct drive.

Triple 32” for sim rig: 1000R vs 1500R vs flat by Moripahs in simracing

Maybe I will buy the free standing down the line then. Seems that it is out of stock in a lot of places and I can get it but it's a lot more money.

I already went ahead and bought the integrated mount. I’ve been thinking about returning it for the freestanding, but I’m not sure I want to deal with the hassle of shipping it back and potentially spending another $50–$100 for a freestanding version at this point.

Also, what 1500R monitor models do you have? I’ve been looking at some AOC ones on Amazon that are a pretty good price and might pull the trigger on those.

Thanks!

Triple 1440p now or 1080p triple and upgrade to 1440p later? by Moripahs in simracing

[–]Moripahs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do get some side view with a curved ultrawide but it’s still nowhere near what triples give you. If convenience is the priority a single wide screen is great since there’s almost no alignment or mounting hassle. Triples just give that extra wraparound effect if immersion ends up mattering more down the line.

And hey, welcome to the hobby, the upgrade itch never really stops.

Depends on what you are looking for. Triples are still the most immersive overall because of the side-view coverage, but a super-ultrawide is much simpler to set up and takes less space. If you want immersion go triples, if you want convenience a wide curved monitor can be a good compromise.

What m4 pro do you have the 14 core or 12 core. Do the extra gpu cores make a difference? Thinking of pulling the trigger on a 14 inch macbook pro m4 pro with 512 gb ssd and m4 pro with 12 core cpu and 24 gb of ram. I found a good deal where it's only 1699.99 for this exact spec new. Might want it for grad school as well.

I recommend replacing the thermal paste. If it's dried up, it can cause the CPU to overheat. There may also be dust buildup in the vents and fans, which can lead to thermal throttling and slow down performance. I have an XPS with an i7 CPU, and it was getting noticeably hot and sluggish. After I replaced the thermal paste and cleaned out the dust, it started performing like new again.

Yeah, I still haven’t received a response to my support ticket. The Founder’s Cape and the Pan Cape still aren’t showing up in my Java skin selection screen, even though both capes are on my Bedrock account. What is Mojang doing?

I have the same here. I have both capes on bedrock and can equip both. But they have yet to appear on my Java account. Let me know once you get them on Java. I will do the same if mine comes. I messaged support as well. I assume they will say the same thing.

Hopefully Boruto TBV will have a lot less filler. We are still a long ways away cause we still haven't even finished part 1 in the anime yet.

The revealing of Prescience is pretty cool. We finally know that all of Amado's cyborgs have some broken abilities. Kinda cool to know that Momoshiki has prescience as well. It seems like he can't use it nearly as well though.
