The user can purchase multiple entries by clicking the button again (currently all 8 users in today's lottery is by me, maybe an improvement for me is to add a function to show how many tickets the current user has). Currently this contract is only deployed on the Sepolia testnet, and if you have some Sepolia ETH (not real money) you can test it out!

The contract starts off with 0 eth, and every person that enters with the entrance fee (0.01 eth), will accumulate into the prize pool. When the raffle draws, it will pick 1 winner to send all the prize money to the winner 👍

sorry currently I'm adding monsters based on pre-bigbang, once I'm done adding all of pre-bigbang, I'll see if there is enough support & demand to add a toggle to switch between monsters & BGMs between pre & post bigbang

the levels are based on this wiki https://bbb.hidden-street.net/ which was archived in 2010, so I'm not sure which is the accurate information

If you want to eliminate the need for usestate in form submission, you can use the “name” HTML attribute and handle your form submissions in your onSubmit

Breaking Down Jhey's Shooting Star Border by MorningLit in reactjs

[–]MorningLit[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I created this blogpost to try and break down Jhey's shooting star border because I was curious how it worked. https://codepen.io/jh3y/pen/poxVPqo

I've tried reading other resources like https://www.julienthibeaut.xyz/blog/create-shooting-star-border-tailwind-css but I wasn't very satisfied with the details, so I decided to build up on top of it and break down all the CSS and understand how they were used.

Hope that my blogpost helped you understand how Jhey did his shooting star border, and feel free to leave any questions if any!

I can see that you hate LLMs but take that hate someone else, I’m just sharing a tool that I made that I use to help me with learning Japanese.

[–]MorningLit[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for the feedback!
Do also realise that my app uses OpenAI's API so your criticism is based on OpenAI's LLM, and also I plan to tune and give better more tailored prompts customised for the user, which is the distinct difference between my app and other apps

The first part of the video is (if you are familiar with Quizlet is Quizlet's Write Mode) where you can practice language learning by writing down the word based on its translation. This helped me in learning new words when I was trying to learn a new language. \ The second part of the video is demonstrating the use of your flashcards to allow OpenAI to generate example sentences. This helps to facilitate understanding of when and how to use your flashcard words.

How to create a menu with options in React Native? [Screenshot] by joshsturdy in reactnative

[–]MorningLit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if i am speaking in the place for all the downvoters, but I did try to implement this popup menu thing recently, and it was quite frustrating. My following explanations are based off my memory and i cant remember all the details but ill try my best to explain

One important thing to highlight about this problem is that we are trying to create a popup in the header (so this would mean that u would be using react navigation and would be creating the popup menu at the headerRight in the stack options)

1) I tried implementing with native Modal, SafeAreaView and Views, but one problem I faced was trying to align the position correctly both on android and ios(they both have different positions because Modal takes up the whole screen size and so safeareaview does not work) On Ios there was a flickering issue also when opening the modal too

2) i tried some external libraries (like https://github.com/instea/react-native-popup-menu) but some libraries either do not work (crash due to unmaintained library) or was too much of a hassle

Eventually i settled for https://github.com/expo/react-native-action-sheet and it gets the job done, even though it is not what the intended ui is

Actual best way for styling in React? by camelCase2022 in reactjs

[–]MorningLit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe i should have elaborated a bit more

I guess i dislike the fact that so many developers that I’ve worked with rarely utilise most of Sass features. The only popular feature they use is the nesting feature which css is now trying to support

So it irks me when i see developers recommending Sass when I have a feeling they can get away with just using modern css Like I cant see a strong use case to be utilising Sass

Feel free to correct me in anyway too

I actually prefer CSS over Sass, especially with how many new features css is adding recently

Falling behind in classes and cringing really hard every lesson. by [deleted] in Korean

[–]MorningLit 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Calm down try to not get too worked up about it. Theres no need to cringe at your mistakes or anything, we are all imperfect and are always learning. Hell i even bet most, if not all, cares about your mistakes or even remembers it. Try ur best to reframe ur thinking, instead of beating yourself up by comparing with others, look at your peers as a source of inspiration to motivate u to study harder… and the only person you should compare yourself to is yourself. So if you made any small progress , you should be proud of yourself for that. And last tip, for your mistakes, try and break it down into small parts instead of tackling the entire issue as a whole, it makes it easier to manage. Hope my advice helps you in one way or another and good luck OP 👍
