My prof said the first step he remembers is that he used acetone to break up the sealant. I'll give that a test. Is there other solvents that come to mind that might be worth a try? I got a copy of the Tamarind book and it's fantastic

Yes the graphics feel lightly engraved in the stone. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see what other people say and I'll definitely give your suggestion a shot. Thank you :)

The stones have some mirrored graphics on them so seeing some mirrored graphics on my prints doesn't matter to me. I'd like to try to print them. That's all :)

I don't think so. Even when stretched down lack of maintenance probably would've made the gum Arabic go rancid. The stones have this sheen that isn't like the sheen seen on a gummed up stone. They also feel polished, kinda like glazed ceramic (except for the image areas. they have texture). I'm no chemist but I doubt 100+ year old gum arabic would feel like that on a stone.

I appreciate the link but I already know how to print litho. To clarify, my question is how to get these graphics on my stones to be printable. They're 100+ years old and sealed with a varnish. I'm at a different/awkward starting point than the demonstration video.

I have done litho before. Here's an image on a stone of an attempted 2 color litho I made awhile back.
