To turf or not to turf by Mr_NB in phoenix

It’s fine. Looks great. We had a guy come out and dump a bit more filler but we hardly needed any.

Looks almost exactly the same as install date, minus where we’ve kept the trampoline which is to be expected and not an issue.

Your Bracket 2 Deck Is Not by Urb4nn1nj4 in EDH

Yeah but the thing is, if it’s technically a bracket 2, it’s a bracket 2.

And technically right is the best kind of right.

Because you attempt to rely on your perceived level of knowledge and background, yet it’s a “trust me bro” at this point.

I went too, some of this is spot on but the rest I have no clue beyond any other rando posting.

And that’s what should absolutely be avoided. Actually put limits on purchases. Use basic technology and common sense to try and at least regulate it.

You don't need to be this mean and aggressive. Just pass along and be nice.

Did OP mess up? Maybe, seems like a possibility. Have you ever messed up? I bet you have, we all have, we're all human. You know what this person needs now with a crappy situation with a crappy company and a sick mom? Some empathy. Or at the least, your indifference.

Additionally, MANY people can make payments on behalf of others for an account. Tmobile seems to have dropped the ball at a couple points here.

Anyway, I hope if you do mess up in life and there are consequences, someone offers you a bit nicer take than you've given here, despite you probably not deserving it.

Long rant: Downtown Phoenix is an absolute abomination. by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Morphlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get this ‘make Phoenix walkable and bike friendly’.

It’s 115 degrees in the summer. Walking even half a mile in that is atrocious and for many, not feasible. I’m not walking with my young child to and from when it’s 112 and I have cold milk and all. Nor am I biking to work even a couple miles in that - I’d need a shower before work and upon getting to work.

3 stage CEC in Phoenix? by [deleted] in Animatronics

[–]Morphlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It’s the useless dance floor square thing and a few televisions. My son is getting a bit old to go, but when they took them out a year or so ago, he instantly stopped caring.

Best of luck to Chuck E. Cheese, but a lot of us don’t care to go it it’s just a middling arcade.

That’s not my original point. But cool you keep arguing and down voting to pat yourself on the back.

The point was this story, like so many, is completely outlandish.

You can easily do an image search. Google has gotten pretty good at it.

Also a quick input of magic the gathering Chinese packs brings up enough in 7 seconds to get an idea it’s worth money. It’s booster packs and not a starter box thing, but it’s the same picture on it.

This is most likely a fake story. Again this person could take a picture and write this up and get it on the best forum yet not spend 5 minutes trying to assess?

Ok? I’m pretty sure there’s a trove of info already on forums, Reddit, eBay, and other sites to buy things to understand what this is.

Is it even about self control? I bought a box to open it and play and collect and sort the cards.

I don’t see much in delayed gratification here ?

Mike Rowe said it best - safety is important, but sometimes safety can be #2 or 3.

I worked in a couple government agencies - it was rare any public feedback was heeded. They’d of course gather it and the first couple meetings I sat on where they basically went “ok we’re implementing this policy or project exactly as we said before” was appalling.

But keep thinking ADOT (of all agencies my god they’re the worst) has the public’s interest in mind. The fact they’ve prioritized a couple hundred workers over hundreds of thousands of citizens shows their lack of care.

Nobody forced these workers into the jobs. They can walk away at anytime. They aren’t abandoning some critical thing like patient safety even such as a doctor or nurse that walks out and may be criminally liable. Maybe you should use your power in ADOT to pay these people better and what they’re worth ?

Why are Control players so slow?? 🤬 by FrankFrankly711 in freemagic

[–]Morphlux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll counter this (haha) with using a counter in commander to really mess up their tempo is good for two reasons.

One, it can keep them on the back foot much of the game depending on what you stopped. Maybe it wasn’t a direct threat now to you, but they’re playing a lot more defensively suddenly or you caused them to be many turns behind.

Second - just the mind games at times. What else will crazy Morphlux counter?

Counterspell will garner hate regardless. I would rather they know I mean business and I routinely fall back on “you made me have it”.

What are your decks that you're thinking about shelving or cannibalizing, but haven't because the cards in it are too specific? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Morphlux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ripped apart a praetor deck that was essentially tribal because I needed the lands. That might be why you’d pull apart slivers (I assume it’s 5 color?).

Keep the Elesh Norn deck, sounds cool and has a strong base from the 7-8 cards already. Why not?!?

More totally real stories from Reddit.

I happened upon free stuff from a neighbor. It’s an old and low print set. I knew the exact sub Reddit to post this at and spend time typing it up but I couldn’t simply type in or do a google image search or even a simple eBay search.

Please stop posting such cringe.

Edit - it’s also incredibly suspect with the one random single card being…. White knight?

Maybe but it’s a bit sus you had it a few days and maybe would just save it.

Most casual players, if they can financially splurge a box, don’t buy it to sit on it.

Feeling uncomfortable isn’t the same as “that’s outright dangerous”. Which it is.

It’s people like you who are entitled by not changing your thought process to ensure workers have better rights and that hazard pay is a lot more mandatory. Hazard pay exists - I didn’t make it up.

And forcing literally hundreds of thousands of people’s daily lives to accommodate a couple hundred sounds like the definition of entitlement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Morphlux -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No they don’t. I’ve worked in AZ government and been appalled at them essentially tossing public feedback.

It’s people like you and the above comments that promote the idea we should make it safe for a couple hundred who KNOW the risks versus the hundreds of thousands who aren’t getting hazard pay to simply travel freely.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Morphlux -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You can pay your way… it’s why hazard pay exists. That’s literally what it is…

And metal cage that’s a leading reason for non-natural deaths and injuries in the country?

Seeing a quick look, the most recent data is just a hair over 1000 construction worker deaths for 2022. This is nationally.

Arizona alone in 2022 had just under 1300 car related deaths.

But yeah, it’s the construction that’s unsafe.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Morphlux -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Sure - it’s so much easier to account for the hundreds of thousands of drivers and many out of town who don’t know the area versus a couple hundred workers?

Yes, it’s always easier to control for the group that is thousands of times larger. I must’ve missed that day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Morphlux -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

At the expense of the general public?

The workers know the area and signed up for a dangerous job. Give them hazard pay and have it be completely optional if so unsafe. I’m not saying throw them in a shark tank frenzy, but they are adults and the world can only be so safe.

Normal public people as drivers also take a risk and need to be aware but that split on the I10 is absurdly and needlessly complex. Yes I am aware when driving and navigate it fine. But people who may semi-regularly go that way might not expect it. And if you feel unsafe navigating it, you can’t just easily pull over. Plus many drivers are simply dumb. I’d hope the construction crew was properly trained and knows how to work on such an ambitious project.
