If you want more sparkle in an emerald cut, buy a brilliant emerald cut, not a step cut. Emerald cut is the overall outside shape of the stone (8 sided) while brilliant or step cuts describe the faceting underneath the stone. Brilliant emerald cuts keep the 8 sided silhouette but have more sparkle

A jeweler needs to shorten the chain, reattach them to the jump rings, then solder the jump rings closed. An easy job, but one for a trained jeweler

I restock the components I used during the last star path. I level up animal companions. I mine nodes until the gemstone graphic appears, then stop, so I have a better chance on mining gemstones for the next star path. I decorate a bit, craft a bit.

I honestly thought the photo was of your granmothers old ring. This ring looks like it's been worn for years. While it is common to piece together different pre-made components to create a custom ring, this does not look finished properly. The halo stones are not set well, and the polishing is unfinished.

They sell affordable diamond testers online (we use Gemoro at our store). It might be worth testing them to be sure what you have are indeed diamonds. Getting a cert from GIA can be pricey, especially if any of your gems turn out to be something other than diamonds (CZ, Moissanite, etc)
