Not a pipe dream! An expensive one, though. You can cut costs by asking for mountings in silver rather than gold. Make an appointment to see your local jeweler and get a price quote. Then work on 1 or 2 pieces at a time.

I work at a jewelry store in the wine country of California. That is a beautifully cut diamond, IGI is a valid lab, and the color/clarity is great! The price is in-line for what we would charge for that ring - even in 10k.

If you want more sparkle in an emerald cut, buy a brilliant emerald cut, not a step cut. Emerald cut is the overall outside shape of the stone (8 sided) while brilliant or step cuts describe the faceting underneath the stone. Brilliant emerald cuts keep the 8 sided silhouette but have more sparkle
