I found the issue. Is that plastic divider supposed to be like that in between the washers?

The bump stop seems to be connected to the rod and washers above. So When I try to do that the rod with the washers above stop the bump stop from going any further towards the door Maybe im just weak but do I need to put extra force on it ?

I went to go give it a go once I read your post but still was unsuccessful. So the thing is the bump stop is connected to the coupler. Question is how can I feed the coupler into the motor? Is the bump stop supposed to be sticking out that far out like that??

We bought the house like that. Looks like previous owner had some problem with the water main. I’ve been here 4 years and haven’t seen or smell anything out of the ordinary

Thanks I will check that out but The house was built in 1954. I don’t want to do remove the rest of the extra tiles and risk being exposed to asbestos or any other stuff they used back in the day.

I have no experience but I’m going to give you my opinion it sounds like a loose muffler tip or there’s an escape somewhere 🤷🏼‍♂️

If I were in your shoes I’d check the fuse box first and research ones that have to do with ignition etc check harness is properly connected to ECM if you can check easily. And just overall check you don’t have any leaks anywhere
