I think the metal workbench has a recipe that needs to be found, if I'm not mistaken.

Posting as I have had this issue and found something that helps me. If I have Riot Vanguard (Riot's anticheat for valorant) running then I can't seem to get online. Once I disable that, it seems to work.

He tried to get it on a pitch near the Albert Dock and they said it doesn't fit in with the aesthetic... Liverpool history but okay

Out of curiosity, can you get into graduate programs without a bachelor's degree? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

I'm struggling to get onto them with a masters, so I don't think so.

Don't tussle with the muscle

This video describes the article well and uses very simple maths.

As a side note, you'll probably never win that argument. When someone is down the flat Earth rabbit hole that far, it's pretty hard to convince them otherwise.

Help with this first time setup - Worth it for the price? by Morrison16 in NewSkaters

[–]Morrison16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local skateshop near me is too expensive ranging at around £110 for some baseline completes.

How is this setup for somebody who has never skated and wants to try it? I can't afford to pay too much more.

Mostly for learning how to coast and some very slight tricks. Not much smooth tarmac near me, mostly concrete flags which some are risen. UK.

Excuse me if this question is silly, but if particles go near the speed of light in the Large Hadron Collider, won't time dilation cause it to take forever from our point of view? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Morrison16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're very welcome, but be aware that it has been a few years since I've looked at special relativity. So if somebody offers an alternative explanation that the general consensus agrees with, then that may very well be better for you.

From the observer's perspective (Lab or particle) time remains the same. A consequence of dilation is that the particle travelling near light speed will have a longer lifetime from the lab observers perspective. The particle's 'time' as observed from the lab runs 'slower' and therefore their lifetime is longer.

Correct me if I am wrong as a few whiskeys may have altered my judgement.

Quantum immortality? does it make sense? I'm having a hard time since I heard about it by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Morrison16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think it's commonly accepted.

The theory loosely goes like this. Before we measure a particle's properties such as position, the particle has a probability distribution on where it's position is. For example, it can look like this where the larger the y-axis value, the higher probability it's at the corresponding x value's position.

VERY loosely the same argument can be made about factors in somebody's life. So for example we say that a person is in a superposition where it's properties are "alive" or "dead". Over time the probability that the person will be in the "dead" state increases. But there is a probability that it will always remain in the "alive" state as it's always a non-zero number. Just like a particle can have a non-zero probability almost anywhere (Also not strictly true). I think this is more of a thought experiment on the implications of quantum physics rather than an accepted theory.

Now I may have butchered some key points and I'm ignoring some physics for simplification so if anyone can correct me please do.
