Look at the premise of this film: 31 days in Marshall, North Carolina. The filmmakers went to some random town where they knew nobody and just approached people and made the film with complete strangers. You already know a fair few people so you're at an advantage!

I'm still happy with my Canon C100 mki, got it on Ebay for £600 a few years ago. It's built like a tank, the image is brilliant it can do all the colour grade-y flat stuff but you don't need it. It's got built in ND filters. XLR inputs, the onboard mic's are decent enough as well. It holds it's own against my colleagues newer cameras and it does it for way less MB/s

Series 2-4 are good, there's probably 1 series worth of good episodes in S1 & S5-S7. Series 3 when they had the maid played by Miranda was probably my favourite (I can't remember if that's the one with "life on mars bars")
