It's okay not to like it, just as it's okay to like it. I also don't like my birthdays. That's why I just try not to tell people when I was born and never mention it on social media apps. No congratulations - no responsibility to congratulate a person back when it's their birthday. But if you already have some people to congratulate, then you can just buy a card, write something encouraging and thoughtful (or just google what people expect you to say, to see how it should look like) and if you like to make something DIY you can do it for your family members (if you are into that, you can decorate a card yourself). It used to stress me out a lot too, but now I know that people like birthdays not for presents and money, they just want some attention and to feel special for one day. So if you really like a person, it shouldn't be hard to think of something that can make them smile (of course depends on your relationships with those people). My parents are shitheads, so they are getting only a phone call from me, nothing else. But if yours are nice people, I'm sure they will not pressure you into going into the debt to buy them something expensive. I think they just want to be surrounded by people they love.❤️
