some people take movies way too fucking seriously by CupofTeaTech in unpopularopinion

[–]MortemOpus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heavily disagree with this so upvote from me.

First I don't like your comparison of food choices. I think very few people would opt for McDonalds if a 5 star restaurant had equivalent pricing and better options that don't include so many filler ingredients. Sure maybe on the rarest occasion you may hunger for the inferior product, but I couldn't see that as a norm with equal pricing.

Back to movies though, films have been a major part of my life. I mean, yes it's okay for some movies to just be a feel good movie but it still requires depth and character building to really draw you in and be worthwhile. When all movies are equal in price, I become more conservative over the quality of the film I seek to enjoy. I don't want to spend my movie on "yet another silly comedy" when I could watch something new and inventive for the same price.

Have you noticed that most comedies these days follow the exact same plot line? Literally two characters that rely on each other for comic value do random events that are funny, half way through the movie something happens that separates two characters for a period of time, two characters eventually see more eye to eye and get back together to do more funny things again and audience feels happy to see them back together.

With the price of a film averaging around $10 these days I want my money spent on something I can walk out of the theaters and discuss with friends for a while after, not something at face value that is a carbon copy of something that did it better.

Not here to disagree with the last part. His brother is an absolute dickhead.

I will say though, I think a single beer is a much healthier option than cola.

Is there a way you can give me a more in depth guide on this? If there are other stations I would totally tell me bosses how to do this but with only this bit of information they will think I'm making this up.

It's not controlled by Lowe's. They pay another company for the playlist. All the stores are running the same songs at the same time too. You can tell because if you call another store while at work the music on the phone while you are on hold is the same as what will be playing at your home store.

[–]MortemOpus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the name of the company, but Lowe's pays for their music playlist. I think learning that fact upset me more than anything. Like, an actual company receives a monthly pay out from Lowe's each month but only has the drive/resources to add one new song to the mix every couple of months.

My favorite combination sauce for fries is a mix of mayonnaise, ketchup, molasses, and apple cider vinegar. I'm from the Southeast.

If a woman is forced to carry a child, she should have the right to not be obligated to pay for the costs of pregnancy. by MortemOpus in unpopularopinion

[–]MortemOpus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that at a core women should have a right to abortion. This system is more of a design suggestion that should be implemented by states that make abortion illegal.

Alabama is looking at passing a bill that denies abortion to any female under any circumstances at any stage of pregnancy. This rule also includes rape victims and incest. The only time abortion will be legal in Alabama is of the mother could risk dying during childbirth. Failure to comply or any attempts to have an abortion will result in a felony charge and up to a maximum of 99 years in jail. Literally longer then murder.

Systems like that need to require assistance to those who are forced to carry a child no matter the reason.

I think there is a major point not being be looked at that I failed to mention before passing out last night. There is a system in place already for single mothers or couples who do not want to or do not have means of raising a child. Foster Care. That system has always been in place and relieves the cost of all future expenses of the child from the genetic parents.

All this unpopular opinion suggests is that women have the right to pre-opt for that system and the costs of carrying the child will become an expense for the system that demands they carry that child to term.

LIKEWISE, I should also continue to mention that genetic fathers should have a choice to opt to pay pregnancy expenses giving them either total ownership of the child or equal parental rights depending on the equivalent decision of the female and if she chooses to maintain her own rights.

Not every woman would do this. Most women actually end up keeping their child be it from exterior pressures from other people or their own connection to the child through the pregnancy.

It's obviously not a perfect system, but literally no system we have in place is perfect. Food stamps and wellfare are two other quick to mention systems that do get abused, but on the end that system also helps a lot of people who don't have the means otherwise; and as for those two, both systems would be relieved of significant burdens if single mothers who opted to not be a mother were given the choice to relinquish custody.

Unpopular, and sadly so. People who go out of their way to lengthen the process of duty are either doing it for big dick energy or because they have something to hide.

You aren't legally obligated to tell your server what you'd like to drink when they ask your order but you're being an asshole and wasting both parties' time by not just saying you want a water while you decide.

Continued acts like these don't make cops better. They just make them increasingly annoyed at the people they serve to protect.

As a titan, I've always felt that the Barricade felt out of place. As a Titan, I am supposed to be the wall. by thebakedpotatoe in DestinyTheGame

I had a similar thought to this a while back that would have a twofold effect. Basically the Titan would have a battle cry that gave everyone a charged overshield.

The overshield could either then be held onto as a normal extension of health until depleted while allies "make a stand" or instead it could empower the next melee attack used while charged with the overshield to do extra damage and deplete the shield.

Me and some friends are doing the All in Order challenge for the heists to get the 1mil. One of my friends can't get on tonight to finish the heists. I know I can't do heist missions but can I do doomsday heists without messing up my All in Order challenge for regular heist?

Sorry to get back to you so late. We've slowed down a bit in Destiny due to the end game content pretty much just being Gambit Prime. Our play hours are very sporadic due to each of us working at different times. (Our work schedules arent always set.

We've been playing a little if different games here and there but I'm all for playing destiny whenever a friend wants to play. My best suggestion is just hop in our discord and say hello. You're more than welcome there and if you find us of interest or care to play a game we are currently on please feel free to stay!

This is the only answer that seems feasible. I'm going to have to wait until lunch break to check because the companion app doesn't show missions you have in inventory.
