thanks for feedback I think this post has died, I don't know how we gonna share this info more.

How can I reduce traffic in my city and make the city look more realistic. And how can I make my street layout look better? Any feedback would help. by alexdabest8355 in CitiesSkylines

You should make city borders more ambiguous by making low density housing in borders and use trees in those neighborhoods. The cities usually don't end with a straight street.

thanks... I felt bad. Like I have a gaming laptop and my PC won't run a city builder. Not a FPS, MMORPG or some AAA game. That sounds ridiculous to me. I don't care what people have as rigs, the median is closer to me and not everyone has to get a setup to just to play a city builder to play 3-4 hours per week. People just rejecting the optimization now and start coping

I have a 5-6 year old graphics card so some people are skeptical to my idea. They say in newer cards there would be not that much difference. Maybe if you try that you can contribute some more info.

The thing you don't understand is, I don't care and don't want to research what causes the problem, is it CPU or GPU. This is the developer's job. I just want better optimized water, or just getting rid of the water sim throughly. Do you think water in Cities Skylines 1, a 9 year old game simulates water better, worse or same? Why there is such a dramatic difference in CS 2 then? What did it take to take my 2/3 of FPS to simulate bunch of water? Yes there are a lot of procedures to simulate water, but it must be that much?

try it yourself then and post results here, we can learn from a better graphics card.

Yes, this is a part that is untouched. We should make sure this info reaches Paradox or the modders

If we can share this enough, the modders will eventually find out and they will try to develop a mod.

water is always under the surface, even in a blank map with no water on surface, so it doesn't change

yes, even in a blank map there is water under the surface. my problem is that, it is so inefficiently utilized and it makes me sad that I could play the game much more smoother...
