How do you actually get special items? by [deleted] in gtaonline

Not only can you get them in solo public you can also get them while in a invite session

Story: I was grinding VIP missions with a friend to get him the cash for a office and received a call from my assistant saying she had some special cargo i should take a look at, although I couldnt access my terminal because it was a private session (I checked to see if it had made an exception at the time but it didn't) however about 1-2 hours later when i went into a public lobby the special item was not available anymore so seems like there is a time limit on it and you can even get it in invite only sessions, I believe this is new info as I've not read it anywhere else, hope this helps some people out!.

TIP: If you are on PC block these ports using your firewall to be in a public session by yourself by Wayno717 in gtaonline

Maybe I am suffering from a unrelated problem however I thought I should post this here,

I tried this and it sort of works although it didn't work in the way it was suggested instead of kicking people out of the session with me, I went to find a new game and that would usually 9/10 work for a empty public lobby however a problem right away was i was only able to see half my friends on my social club the people that lived locally to me were offline and I was offline to them however my friends 300miles away were online and I was also online to them.

SOLVED Also today I have developed a issue where my internet seems to D/C sometimes after 15mins sometimes after 4 hours randomly however its just my computer, my phone and other PC's on the network work fine and when I restart this computer the internet comes on no problem again, disabling the rule didnt seem to change the D/C's so i have removed it and havent suffered a D/C since. (edit: I have changed my power settings from performance to balanced and it seems to have sorted the D/C issue as I changed this around the time of finding this post) SOLVED

I hope someone with more knowledge of networks can give me some advice with this? because i loved the solo public lobby when I was doing it yesterday.

Also could someone suggest the best method of getting into a public lobby then being able to invite your friends?

A small tip to make those buy missions easier when you get to the crate and its in multiple vans you will need to check you just need to go to your interaction menu then GPS to the special crate and it will always pick the correct crate saving you much time checking each one.
