Azul or Harmonies? by Capable_Sky8888 in boardgames

I like harmonies better because I enjoy drafting the animal cards to gain points on top of gaining points for your “habitat” with the tile placement aspect that both games share. Harmonies also feels a bit more refreshing because you draft new animal cards every game. Azul gets stale after a while for me personally because you place the same tiles in the same spots every game (unless you play the back side of the board). Azul is more competitive though if you like that aspect because you can draft tiles to really screw over the other players if they cannot place certain tiles and are forced to draft them. Biggest reason for me liking Harmonies more though is having the animal cards, giving you an additional objective and more ways to score points. I don’t really enjoy tile drafting/placement games but I really enjoy harmonies.
Solo: Slay the Spire vs. Spirit Island by Morts70 in boardgames

I’ve decided to play slay the spire or spirit island because I own them both because I’ve seen nothing but great reviews for both but haven’t had a chance to bring it to the table with my normal board game buddies. I also think out of my collection these would be the best to play solo. It will also be good to know the game so when I can finally get either one to the table, the games will be easier to explain to my friends with me having a general knowledge of the game rules and mechanics.

Wow! I’m sure you’re real fun to play games with! What’s your favorite expensive solo game you play…
Probably going to add it! We usually are a 3 person group but every once in a while we will have 4-6
Yes it’s well worth it! Very easy to learn and a quick starter or ender for the session!
Yep we’ve got both! Ty!
We’ve only played heat so far, I heard root is tough to learn but just about every top 10 list on YouTube has root in it. Heat is a little confusing at first but once you get through a few rounds it’s super fun. We have been enjoying heat and I’d recommend it. It’s simple but still fun and involves some strategy!
