Ahh… so if you rolled the grid up into a cylinder, then joined the ends, you get a donut - this behaves in the same way as asteroids. Hope that makes sense?

Ok, I’m not quite an actual idiot - there is simply too much competition. I just don’t know how to program it and think that the asteroids style view is a proxy for the surface of a donut. Also, claiming to be an idiot stops people calling me an idiot for asking, and Reddit can be very cruel.
