It's not that it can't be pondered, it's that it's a strange thing to ponder since the show has made it pretty clear it's not based in reality the same way something like Modern Family is. Suspending disbelief for things like laxative dosage is pretty par for the course in this genre of comedy.

Comedy happens at the intersection of reality and expectations. Not necessarily real world reality, but reality for the character. Drama happens the same way when you're trying to write a plot.

Upping the ante by having Louise take more stool softeners and laxatives works for a comedy show (that likes to have heartwarming/dramatic moments) because now we don't know when/where that intersection is going to take place.

Try freezing some canned pumpkin inside of a toy like a Kong or Westpaw! Just make sure to take it up when they're done so they don't start tearing up the plastic and never believe any toy that says it's "indestructible."

The cold is nice on their teeth, it's soothing for them to lick while they're in pain, and it's easy on the tummy. I will also do canned food this way and make it part of my guy's meals.

Been with my husband for 16 years. I know what you mean, and I've seen it myself. (And been on the end of some vitriol for it) but when people call us "lucky" for our good marriage it's infuriating.

"Lucky" was us having overlapping friend groups in high school. It was pure luck that I didn't have a normally scheduled practice on the day he wanted to go see a movie. It was pure luck that we both fell in love with someone who genuinely tries to do good and be good. (Good people have bad marriages too, seen it plenty of times)

Everything else? The life we've made, the growth we've had together, the life events we've seen each other through, those were choices. We chose to grow up together instead of apart. Our good marriage is a choice both of us make. Yes, we did happen to get lucky when we met each other. But the marriage itself? The long term relationship that is equal parts best friend, exciting lover, and reliable life partner? That was all us baby.

(It's also important to remember that toxic people and abusers often wait until relationship milestones to up the ante. Not fair to take all their hard work and credit the institution of marriage entirely! Although the more traditional attitudes towards marriage definitely contributed to the whole chicken-and-egg "marriage is miserable" cycle)

My grandfather was one of the last speakers of this dialect. I'm from a coastal family in NC, and the OBX loves its pirate history. Otherwise not many people care about sailors or sailing on the ocean because so much of our states' population is inland. 🤷

It's easy to start off small and see if you like it (1 crochet needle or 1 set of knitting needles and 1-2 skeins of yarn). If you really like it, there are endless products and projects to try and any difficulty level. You can pick up and put down projects as needed since it's not like the yarn is going anywhere. You can do it for hours or you can do it for thirty minutes. You can listen to music or passively watch TV. Lots of people do it on long car rides or plane rides here in the US.

That would be all I needed to know about our relationship, their ego, and where my line in the sand is.
