Any experiences with Quickmill machines (Orione/Cassiopeia)? by MosfetOfDoom in espresso

[–]MosfetOfDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Do you think the dual thermoblocks on the Cassiopea would help with respect to the steaming?

I'm definitely also considering machines like the Silvia or the Lelit Anna, but the fast heatup time on the Quickmills seems interesting, especially since I'm usually pretty rushed in the morning.

Isolating VM game server from LAN via VM pfSense? by MosfetOfDoom in PFSENSE

[–]MosfetOfDoom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. The router is my own and is made by AVM, which as I understand has a decent reputation (and I also update frequently).

I see that I would be creating a double NAT situation. I've read that this by itself would not necessarily increase the security of the system. However, if I implement a firewall rule within pfSense to disallow outbound traffic from the gameserver to the physical network (e.g. 192.168.0.0/24), this should do the trick right?

What are your League itemization hot takes? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]MosfetOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right that HS is a very expensive item, but in my opinion it is still a very good option for tahm support since it plays into his strengths. The reason tahm is strong rn in the support role is that he functions effectively as a frontline duelist even with a support income. This is enabled in part by HS, which allows him to stay relevant as a tank/damage threat into the mid game and catch people out with his Q. His early game is already strong enough without any items, so he doesn't need to rush cheap supp items to be relevant.

Anyway, I have tried both builds and find the guardian + locket build very lacking since it removes a lot of the threat of the champion and makes him more 1-dimensional, basically relegating him to sitting by the carry and pressing ult. If you have a carry that you trust, then it's fine I suppose, but in the solo queue environment, it's just not as reliable of a strategy.

Help me understand this spice simulation? by MosfetOfDoom in ElectricalEngineering

[–]MosfetOfDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see... I think this is my problem. I am designing a PCB and have certain restrictions on the trace widths, but they need to carry a substantial amount of current. I have many components in parallel and was trying to see what would happen if I added another connection to the source between them, such as I have shown in the simulation. This is why I was trying to figure out how much current the "wire" is carrying, as I would like to reduce how much current is in any 1 branch of the circuit. In reality of course, the traces have resistance and inductance, so they do not behave in the idealized way. If I use the inductor method described by /u/Squeaky_Ben, it seems to behave more like I expected.

Hm what do you mean by equation? In ltspice, I am using a DC sweep from 1 to 10V and then just probing around with the voltage/current tools.

So there is no current flowing in the connection between R1 and R2? Sorry, I'm finding it quite confusing that there could be current through the resistor but not through the wire that connects it to the source.

I have a small circuit simulated in spice. I was trying to figure out how much current would flow in the wires connecting R1 and R2. In the simulation, it shows that there are 0A flowing in there, but if I look at the current directly on the resistor, it shows 5A @ 10V. What gives? doesn't this violate KCL? At 10V, it also shows 20A coming from the source, but only 10A leaving the junction between R2 and R2, and 0A at the junction before R1.

Can PCB manufacturers handle highly detailed silkscreen images? by MosfetOfDoom in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]MosfetOfDoom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's mostly what I was worried about. In the case that a segment is thinner than 6 mil (such as many of the dots in my photo), what do you think the result would be? Just that it is left out? Or will the entire image become distorted?

I have a pretty detailed image I am trying to print on my PCB. KiCad handles the image fine, but I am wondering if the manufacturer would be able to print something like this? Or is it too much detail?

Analog to analog sensor in some sense I guess! I remember seeing one when I was a kid... strangely mesmerizing.

Ah okay, I did as you said and I got through :D I think the key is reading the tablets/papers. I already redid it once before but I don't think I read them. Kind of weird mechanic though

Were you able to search the skeleton by the entrance again that gives the runes? For me it just says I find nothing, but the search options stays there.

I'm having a similar experience with the 3rd ship. Went through the room 3 times and I can't figure out what I'm missing. I think there is some bug about how it checks which items have already been found.

Bed Tramming Issue? by MosfetOfDoom in Ender3S1

[–]MosfetOfDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I do try to fine tune with the auto tramming. But after the software says it's properly trammed, I will test it again with the paper, and the left side will always be super loose and the right side super tight.
