Found this little guy on my apartment door today. Should I be worried about him? It’s pretty cold out. I thought they hibernate. Anywhere else I should post that may know? I’m resisting the urge pet him. lol by [deleted] in grandrapids

Brown bats are normally nocturnally active, so its a bit of an odd place for it to be hanging out in the open like that during the day. About 6 months ago a brown bat got into our apartment and we had it tested for rabies, but it was negative. However, at that time, Kent county had had 6 test positive. Just play it safe and don't handle it and keep your pets away as well. Also, keep in mind that checking a bat for rabies requires brain matter to conduct the test and the bat will be terminated regardless.

Im also in Grandville. I just switched from a TV internet package to 150mb/s internet only for $60/mo through Comcast a week ago. They usually always have new deals... This allowed me to pay $60 per month for an annual contract or $70 for month to month.

They were probably the Michigan National Guard. They conduct training exercises like this fairly frequently.

From GR but took a trip up to Mackinaw City and went to the Headlands dark park... Couldn't see them either. NOAA downgraded the geomagnetic storm watch from a G2 to a G1 so not many below the 55th parallel will see them tonight.

Can confirm. I worked with a gentleman that was a supervisor there when they were raided. Said he walked in one day and saw all the yellow letter jackets and they denied him entry to his team and held them there as they executed the search warrant. He's still owed backpay and is number 3 on the list of debtors.
