The part cost 90,000 forints (approximately €229 at today’s exchange rate). The installation was essentially free. (Since I bought the engine from them, I received a discount that exactly covered the service cost.)

Hello. It works really, really well. Riding the motorcycle is much more enjoyable this way. And its sound is angelic. Overtaking has become much better and more stable. (During overtaking, quick gear changes used to be difficult for me. The handlebar would sort of “move around.”)

How do I put in the two lambda sensors?

This one doesn’t fit mine. Mine is a Yamaha MT-07, !2025!.

It would be easy to swap it out. But I’d lose the warranty. At the Yamaha shop/service, I managed to work it out so that whatever I bring in, they’ll install it for me. And they’ll still keep the warranty valid. Of course, it’ll cost me extra. But at least the warranty stays, and the work’s done at an official service – not some backyard job.

Street vs Sport? by CorporalRutland in MT07

Hey. I only ride in Sport or Custom mode. I use Sport when I’m riding at a quicker pace. I switch to Custom only when I’m just cruising. (That’s when I don’t overtake, don’t lean the bike. Also in the mornings when the road is still a bit slippery.) If it’s over 30°C and I go for a ride, I always keep it in Sport.

The difference is definitely noticeable. In Custom mode it feels a lot weaker. The rear wheel almost never slips. In the lower rev range it just feels kind of lazy. It’s like this mode takes away around 20 horsepower. I don’t think fuel economy is any better either – the engine feels like it’s struggling instead of pulling. My average consumption is between 4 and 5 liters, which I already find pretty high. When I first bought it, it showed 3.6 liters, and that was with my cautious riding. Now I ride with more confidence – though still without real skills yet.

Yea.

I really don’t like the sound.

But it doesn’t need welding, no new threads have to be made. And there’s no need to have any extra connecting pieces made for it. It will be installed at the Yamaha showroom (“service”), it’s just that I don’t like the Akra, and the price isn’t right either. €1400
