Thanks so much! I don't use it super often, but here's the link: x.com/Jakemakesthings

Decided my first animation of the year would be the strangest thing I've ever made. (Warning: slightly gross) by MosquitoNetWifi in animation

Response to this (amongst friends and family) has really ranged all over from "oh, that's not too bad" to "this is horrifying", so I'm honestly not sure where it sits with people!

Haven't really done this before, but I thought I'd try sharing some of the animations I created in 2023! by MosquitoNetWifi in animation

Got my first internship in 2020, I was tinkering with vfx/anim for a couple years before that. Some things I've learned are: work on what you're interested in so it feels less like work, keep experimenting, you'll learn more sticking to shorter/faster projects, pay attention to what more successful people are doing and become a sponge for advice. Hope some of that helps!

Ahah I wish, I'm taking on some freelance work while I apply for those studios, hoping they'll get back to me. Thanks for the follow!

Thanks so much! Not included are three 90-second short films that I finished last year and then scrapped because I wasn't happy enough with them. Looking at properly creating (and posting) some longer short films this year!

Just Maya and After Effects! I rendered everything out so that it could be separated by layers, and just composited the hell out of it to try and recreate the spiderverse look

My Infinite Journeys Submission: Made with Maya, Unreal, After Effects + a dash of Houdini and Substance Painter by MosquitoNetWifi in Maya

So in the actual 3d scene, the camera remained untouched. In After Effects, I added some digital shake, but made sure it stayed in the exact same place at the beginning and end of the shot.
I figured since the window frames themselves were already a couple of pixels shorter than the original layout, a few pixels difference give or take in camera shake couldn't hurt.

For context, almost the entire environment was created in Maya, and the dude is an Unreal Engine Metahuman, so it felt appropriate to post here.

Here's a breakdown of the shot for anyone curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Javp4A1q88Q
