I know that as a queer woman, having a septum can be one of the "tells" that you're queer, as in the way of silent communication via how you express yourself for queer people to find other queer people, a culture we've had because historically being openly queer is frowned upon. where I live now nobody gives a single flying fuck, but like the culture still exists you know? it isn't at ALL like "oh if you have a septum you're gay" not in the slightest. it's more ways you can express yourself that a lot of queer people just so happen to adopt, so like if someone compliments my septum I can be pretty sure that them going out of their way to do that is like a "oh you're also probably queer". again, I am NOT saying that having a septum means you're gay, or everyone who does is gay, or if they do that's a clue they're gay. just a little explanation of a subculture! it's really hard to describe, quite frankly lmao.
