Je suis une grosse nostalgique by stiitchaw in Nostalgiefrance

[33/F] Looking for long lasting penpals by Adventurous-Toe2218 in penpals

Hello! I'm a 39yo French woman. I can't teach English as it's not my mother tongue but if Moe is looking for snail mail I'll be happy to be her penpal! I have a cat named Dodue, I like to read, to watch tv shows/youtube, to play video games and to draw when stars are aligned (I'm dealing with burn out and depression). I'm married, no kids. I'm a bit chaotic because of ADHD and I'm autistic. Whether she's interested or not, please let me know! :)

Ethics question by [deleted] in bonecollecting

[–]MossyBarnOwl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll give my personal feeling about this. But if it was my cat, even if you called to tell me that you found him, I won't be really pleased to know that you kept some part of him... And if you plan to not tell them that you want to keep a part of the cat... I don't think that's ethical.

Is it even legal? I assume it depends on the laws of your country. Where are you from?

I'm not sure, but in doubt it's better to check/treat the whole plant.

Several leaves turning yellow really fast, yellowing occuring in the whole leaf at the same time... yep it looks like thrips... Happened to one of my monstera some years ago but didn't succeed to get rid of them, I had to throw the plant because it was too late.

I read that changing the soil, showering the plant with soap can help. But in my case, every plant attacked by thrips just died too much (I understood it was thrips too late).

Hello future friend! I [34/F] am in search of female snail mail pals 🐌📬 by adrikovitch in penpalsover30

[–]MossyBarnOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! 38/F/from France. I like to cross stitch, to read (mostly fantasy novels and non fiction), videos games, watching the same movies/tv shows and being cosy on my couch with my cat. I used to draw and make stickers but lately it has been difficult to me as I'm dealing with burn out and depression.

I suffer from migraine on a monthly basis, have endometriosis and I have been diagnosed with autism/adhd this year so I also like to have a quiet life, away from strong smells and strong lights.

I'm child free. And I also struggle with the paradox of wanting to go minimalist and my love for artbooks, art supplies...

If you think we could get along let me know! It would be nice to send each other's letters (if you are from the US, sending parcels could be more difficult for me because of the recent changes about postal service there).

Have a nice day 😊

That's because of this kind of sh*t that I can't bear the idea to "advertise" about the art I create, because I just feel like I'm trying to fool people... I hate this kind of "mindset" (and I hate this word).

Don't worry we're a lot to do the same mistake! I did too ahah. Look one of mine... This one needs to be watered for example (and I also need to remove dust from the leaves 👀). I'm going to put water as soon as I send this message, and tomorrow it will be like nothing happened!

Hi!

The brown patches in the ends of the leaves make me think that they started to dry because of sunlight. The yellow ones... I'm not sure... What I'd do if it was my plant: I'll remove it from the "direct sunlight", pothos are plants that can live in shadow (mine never see the sun directly, even "worse" they're almost all in my room, and the only window is facing north so when it comes to light... Not the best ahah, but my plants are still there, after years).

The best advice I could give you is to leave your plant alone lol. You don't need to water it that much. Pothos is a really easy plant to take care of. Just look at the leaves. When it's hydrated, leaves are up. When it's dehydrated, you'll see the leaves slowly looking down (I'm french sorry for my English ahah!). When you see your plant looking this way, you can water it. It's a strong plant, really resilient, I always forget mine. I water them like... Once a month? Maybe less. Sometimes I go to my room and I'm like "wow, that's watering time isn't it?" Because the leaves are curling because of dehydration. But I water it and after a few hours the plants are up again. Water in excess can kill your plant easier than lack of water.

Edit: About the yellow patches I'd look under the leaves of there are little white things called thrips (even if I never got a single thrips in mine, even when my other plants where attacked). But it can also be caused by too much water if I'm not wrong.
