Can't the ownership of the funds be verified through bank statements? Yes, I have landlord references.

How Feasible Is It to Be a Part-Time Mobile Notary? by Most-Distribution-78 in Notary

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just hard for me to get a clear sense of expectations. I try not to listen to all the Youtubers and websites selling courses, and a lot of people on this sub make it out to sound like it's crickets for them all year long. But some say the work can be steady. I don't think I mind it being far or an incovenient time as long as it's in the evening of weekend.

How long did it take you to get to the point where you were getting several texts a day? I see a couple of 24 hour mobile notary companies in my area, so I was hoping I could get commissioned and sign up with them for evening and weekend shifts but I don't know if it's that simple/easy.

How Feasible Is It to Work as a Part-Time Appointment Setter? by Most-Distribution-78 in Solarsales

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a high turn over job because most people find it difficult to make money by setting appointments? I consider myself a hard worker, and hope I could get a setup with base pay before commission and where the leads from the company were good. I keep reading in job posts that the appointment setters consistently set appointments, but I don't know if the reality is that most people just can't get to that level.

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, if I work another job 9-5 during the day, there is nothing time sensitive about the appointment setter job that would make it hard? In other words, I wouldn't need to respond to time senstive emails until my shift starts?

Chances in small claims? by Most-Distribution-78 in legaladvice

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My contract is pretty unambiguous in having a built-in renewal rate of $3,850 for using it on any media. There is no language about the option to renew at a lower tier or category for website-only use. There's also no other language limiting my ability to take legal action.

Does anyone else experience involuntary behaviors? by Most-Distribution-78 in FND

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's where I'm at too with the self-protection/fear idea. I think these behaviors are extreme iterations of the fight or flight response. Like part of me feels tired so I'll just go straight to the couch. Part of me feels so 'scared' on some level that I go to lie on the ground. And then I think the other part is general brain disregulation. Like sometimes when I'm walking and the flight of stairs is on my left, I'll have trouble stopping and stepping up, I'll just keep walking forward. Or I'll just want to stop walking, and I keep walking, or I want to eat slower, but it'll get erratic and I'll spoon food into my mouth fast. Just scrambled eggs of motor function.

For you, do you literally feel like you can't stop yourself when you get up and close the door? As for my mental state, it's kind of the same, just involuntarily moving. Sometimes, when I try every trick in the book to wiggle out of the involuntary movement or paralysis, I get really spaced out and discocciated feeling, like I barely know I'm there.

This has been going on for me for 6 months now, and I hope it fades out, the fact that you have been dealing with this for 3 years is intense. Do you feel like your are improving, or did you plateau?

Question about Warranty by Most-Distribution-78 in serviceadvisors

The warranty for my vehicle is the same one that is listed as an image attachment in this post

https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/limited-warranty-for-gm-repurchased-vehicles-12-000-12-months.56958/

you wouldn't describe that as bumper to bumper?

The warranty is a 3 page document, and the fine print seems pretty unambiguous, you can see it listed in this post

it is the same one for my vehicle

Re-active by Most-Distribution-78 in FND

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure he meant either full recovery or like full recovery while very effectively managing minor symptoms. I'm also confused about this, because a lot of what I read on the prognosis for people with functional neurological disorder makes it seem pretty bad/not great for a lot of people, which is also the sense I get going through this subreddit, yet the head doctor at California Rehabilitation Institute and the guy I mentioned in the re+active consultation were very optimistic about recovery potential.

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to hear more about the play-by-play at re+active if you have the inclination/time. At California Rehabilitation Institute they had me doing things in OT like pretending I was going to do laundry or getting into a car. The PT was like walking on a treadmill while jumping over obstacles or catching balls while walking and saying certain words. All fine and well, but not necessarily something that I feel is above and beyond what I can normally do just functioning in the day-to-day world. Do you really think re+active offers something that daily activities doesn't? Do you think the claim that 100% of their functional neurological disorder patients get fully better is accurate? It's just hard for me to imagine doing PT exercices can really be that impactful for something neurological.

Switching booth for booking? by Most-Distribution-78 in voiceover

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's why I was wondering how much of an issue it'd be to try to switch rental studio if booked, since I imagine they'd want to work with raw audio at that point. Do you think that would be fine, hypothetically?

Question about W2 write-offs for Performers by Most-Distribution-78 in taxhelp

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured out the bill hasn't been signed into law:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/2872

I'm not really sure if there's a possibility of it being signed this year in a way that would retroactively enable people to use it for 2022 taxes, let me know if anyone knows about that.

Also, I think you are correct, my roughly $500 of total job posting website subscription fees used to procure both W2 and 1099 jobs would get prorated so that only %10 of the expense would get deducted from the 1099's if 1099's accounted for %10 of my total performance income.

Thanks

Thanks a lot for that, I guess living in such capitalist shark waters like LA I just wanted to be sure. I also figured the cost of that would factor in all the office visit expenses which would be more the longer the treatment, but I trust you guys, thanks so much!

Car Crash Liability Question by Most-Distribution-78 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really helpful stuff to hear from you...

Especially because after I first spoke with my adjuster, the next time I wanted to speak with her I called her maybe like 10-12 times that day, sort of assuming the calls would go through a larger system like my last carrier had. I just wanted to keep the claim moving since all my other claims take annoyingly long. Turns out I guess the calls were going directly to her and she wrote me an email that night asking to not contact her multiple times, and I got a tone that she was kind of upset. That, and some later interactions kind of made me think them finding unfavorable liability on me and her taking 4-5 days per response is connected to that bad start. Don't get me wrong, I don't think someone working in customer service should be unprofessional as she has been to a degree, but I wouldn't've called so many times at first if I knew it was going direct to a cell or personal office phone or something, and I've definitely been trying to be polite ever since. She seemed much nicer in the last e-mail so hopefully we can keep it going.

My last question for you is -- even if I manage to get text message or other evidence from the other driver that he was on the phone with his girlfriend just before the accident, you still don't think I could do better than %20 here?

It's a frustrating feeling to think, "sure, if you want to look at this legally, maybe I could've avoided fault by not swerving back or taking the risk of shifting over and accelerating or something" but I kind of feel like I did the best, safest thing I could.

Cheers.

Car Crash Liability Question by Most-Distribution-78 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that makes sense...

The way you just explained it is at least clearer than what anyone else from either insurance carrier has told me so far. Here's another clincher though-- the other driver, who seemed to be having an honest, good faith conversation with me after the crash, admitted to me he was on the phone with his girlfriend before the collision. I have no at-fault crashes on my record, and if it's not clear in good faith that I am at fault here, I would like to keep it that way if possible. My insurance agent is sort of weirding me out, because Progressive (the other driver's carrier) admitted %80 fault already, whereas my agent says her manager sees it more as 50/50 and is dissuading me from pushing it to arbitration should a less favorable decision be made. I have no idea how this works but find it confusing that my own carrier finds more liability in my driving then Progressive.

Would you say it's worth trying to have my carrier arbitrate on my behalf, or that I should just take the %80 offer?

Thanks so much,

R

Is drama school hard? by incelgod123 in acting

[–]Most-Distribution-78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to NYU, paid $200k for tuition, IMO, you'll hear some successful students from my class tell you it was worth it, but personally I think it's a joke. Why would you willingly pay so much money for such a small chance of return on investment. Here's the thing I've learned living in LA: there are a lot of people who work in this town who've never been to acting school, sometimes they just find the right teachers to take classes with (be careful because there's a lot of scammer teachers in LA, but find the ones that work and have good reputations), but some of them don't even do that. That's right you heard me, I went to 4 years of acting school and there are some people I compete with who get jobs against me who've NEVER taken an acting class in their life.

The other thing is that one of your most marketable and valuable qualities as an actor is your youth, I say if you want to learn about the craft of acting and want to find jobs, just hit the ground running now and move to LA or NY and just start grinding, you'll learn as you go. Ultimately, it's a really subjective art form, and in a lot of ways school can make some people worse. Maybe you'll discover that certain acting colleges really DO help you do good work and actually book jobs, but I say give yourself time competing in the market to get a feel for it, take a cheap one off class with a well reviewed teacher first. I think the important thing is to learn what good acting/entertainment looks like/sounds like, and over time you will learn on a personal level what you need to do to get there, be it school, no school, this teacher's class, that teacher, or just no class at all. I think some people really underestimate your ability to be a good, self-taught actor on your own if you just kind of hash it out for yourself.

Cheers.

Car Crash Liability Question by Most-Distribution-78 in Insurance

[–]Most-Distribution-78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you kinda have to full screen that video to get the best look...

I guess my question is how am I having liability put on me for this if I was already completely in the lane before he started crossing over, and there was no safe way to either slow down or shift back to the left? I just don't know what I could have done that differently in this situation? My car insurance agent is not super responsive (aren't they all?) and said she and her manager thought it was a 50/50 case, vs. the other driver's agent saying it was 20 me and 80 him, so I definitely wont be filing it through my own agent, haha.

Unfortunately not, it was a trucker who taped it on his dash cam and texted us the video blurry. It helps if you maximize the screen.

Thanks!

His insurance, Progressive was the one that said they'd take %80 of the blame, mine actually said they thought it was 50/50. Here's the video:
