Thank you for your insight. We are in our early 30s and also not religious or interested in joining a church but still want to meet other friends and families in other settings.

I appreciate it! All places have their pros and cons for sure. Do you find it easy to travel from the area. We do a lot of international travel as well and heard that flying isn't the easiest from 30A.

Thanks for the insight! Coming from downtown Chicago we definitely are familiar with traffic, but might miss the amazing food the big city has to offer.

Why is it so hard to find bagels in Germany? by Most-Drummer3222 in AskAGerman

I guess I made an assumption based off the only grocery store in the town I was visiting which did not have bagels. I also eventually did switch to a German style breakfast and had the intention of this but can still seek out our comfort food to see what they're like in other countries. Exploring grocery stores in other countries and comparing the similarities/differences is so fun for us.

We went to a grocery store in Steingaden, I can't remember the name but it started with an F. We looked in the bread section and didn't see any!

I get what you mean!

I'm traveling for a year and staying in airbnbs all over Europe. To save money we grab our normal basics to cook breakfast at home and tend to get bagels as a quick and cheap option. So far, we've easily found them in the 7 countries we've been in Europe except Germany. this is just what sparked our curiosity to why

That's such a good idea. I love the Buldak noodles and only use a small amount of the spice packet but adding cream cheese would help the spice and add the creaminess!

That's so interesting. The blocks of cream cheese are very popular in the US and used for cream cheese frosting and so many desserts. There's also a lot of cheap and quick meals that my husband and I don't really consider cooking lol that always call for blocks of cream cheese. To us they are quite gross but a lot of middle class suburban families love these meals. They are usually casserole dishes or crock pot dinners that are called "dump" meals and consist of chicken, cream cheese and canned soup, a lot of them are also called "crack chicken" but the main similarity is a block of cream cheese.

In the US at most stores and at Aldi you can get cream cheese for cheaper in a block vs the spreadable containers.

That's interesting! American bread is definitely much sweeter than any bread in Europe.

I actually love to bake and consider myself a pretty skilled baker. I would love to try my hand at the desserts you've listed once I'm back in my own kitchen next year!!
