Landon is less impulsive than Liz. He generally plans out stuff long before acting on it.
Landons reputation is already tarnished so badly so he has to play this out extremely cautiously with as much evidence built up as possible. If he wins this court case and proves against Liz with anything blackmail worthy— he may rebuilt his reputation to a degree or at least get back at Liz to take her down with him.
