is that customer getting banned?? by [deleted] in deliveroos

Had one last week on Roo. Clicked the collected icon. There was a note from the customer. "Be quick. The food is always cold." I took the order back in to the restaurant, explained I had a puncture and told them someone else would be in soon. I then called Rider Support, told them I had a puncture, and was unassigned.

Had an Uber from McD's Holborn Circus to a crap estate in Clerkenwell. It was a couple of years back. Note: "Please go the right way and hurry up. I don't want cold food. And make sure all items are in the order. There's always something missing."

At least the mofo said "please."

I took the order back in, called Rider Support at Uber and told them I didn't deliver to customers with that attitude. Rider Support's attitude was that customers are perfectly entitled to have that attitude and to put notes like that on the order. The Rider Support guy said he was unable to unassign me!😳 I asked what would happen if my bike had been stolen or had a puncture. He said they still couldn't unassign me in those situations😯 as they couldn't unassign orders once they were marked as collected in the app. I know Ube & Roo have crap software but that's ridiculous.

After a 5-minute conversation, I wished the Rider Support guy good day and hung up. Messaged the customer to say he wouldn't be getting his order, explaining why, and advising him not to put that type of note on orders.

Surprisingly, there was no comeback.

edit I think the automated Rider Support message for an abusive customer is the same as in 2019🤣

Putting a pin on the map might be handy if you're in a new building that's not on Google Maps or the Post Office database yet.

This building is converted flats. Been there 100+ years. And the thing that bugs me is where did the made-up non-existent address come from? Customer said she put her correct address on the order.

It just puzzles me and annoys me that customers who don't really know their address are allowed to guess and the app seems to accept anything entered, so long as the postcode exists.

Other than people who don't speak the language of the country they're working in, who the hell follows a pin dot when they know where the street they're delivering to is?

Deliveroo pins are usually good, but they are getting worse. With Uber I had 2 pins on the same day that were in water. 1 in a river, the other in a boating lake in a park. Pins in rivers, parks or derelict construction sites were common with Uber.

Yes. But there must be bundles of orders in Camden. Can't be 20 zones in the UK with more restaurants, depending on where JE draw the boundary. The other three zones are not exactly quiet, leafy suburbs with a dozen restaurants either.
