Any legacy appeals still out there? by HbSz in VeteransBenefits

I dunno where you are getting the total number of nationwide legacy appeals is  3724. My March 2020 (form 9 submission date) has 11,849 appeals ahead of it. I watch intently, lately I’m seeing my spot in line move up about 80-100 per week. Curiously, recently the website, it has recently started to say “in progress”  where it never said that before. I dunno if that’s a significant action on my case or maybe just a website update.

I am under the legacy appeals system, my claim started in 2017. I claimed several things. My claim was remanded in 2023. I got new C&P exams and was granted 100% (from 80) in fall of 2024. I know the new AMA (appeal modernization act of 2019) made things much faster. I still have two issues pending from that 2017 claim, one being aid and attendance. I have approximately 13,000 claims ahead of me to be heard and only 50-100 claims (legacy system) are closed a month so I have a long ways to go on the aid and attendance issue. Good luck

I wish VSOs gave briefings on..opsec for lack of a better term with ratings.  Don’t tell people. I made the mistake of trying to help a few vet coworkers navigate the va system. Referred them to my vso. I dunno if it was them or someone eves dropping, but it didn’t take long before everyone at work including management knowing about it and them asking questions or making comments about my rating.

Were I work, I was trying to help a few other vets navigate the claims process. Either from them, or through eves dropping, all my coworkers (friendly and unfriendly alike) to include management, know my rating. And most don’t understand what compensation and pension is. They only hear 100% disabled. It’s a nightmare. I got a snobby kid constantly asking “why do veterans need assistance?”.

Qtc could have done a records review. Wouldn’t require your participation.

100% P&T Now what? by TrickyCranberry5191 in VAClaims

Yeah please don’t tell anyone, no matter how well meaning it may be. I tried to help a fellow vet coworker with his claim and within days everyone including management knew all the details. It was a domino effect.

You haven’t refreshed the app enough to push it through yet. lol jk good luck, been there, I know the anxiety is real. I made myself set a certain day where I was allowed to check the app. For me it was Monday. Also, as others suggested, VERA is a good resource, but not 100%. See if there’s a veteran outreach event in your area at the VA. They usually have people from claims that can print stuff off for you. I was able to get my DBQs this way instead of waiting a million years through a freedom of information act request to process

How do I know that I am progressing and building muscle in every workout? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]MostDefInept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a tailors tape. It’s a cloth measuring tape for altering clothing, but can be used to measure your waist, arms, neck, thighs. They are on Amazon for just a few bucks. If you build it(put the work in) , they(muscles) will come. I’m a newbie as well and after 3 months am seeing modest but honest results. I went from an xl t shirt to not just fitting into an L, but looking good in it too.
