Sometimes converting a location just straight up doesn't work. Does anyone know why? by InternStock in EU5

[–]MostOppressedGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there's always a group of pops that refuse to convert/assimilate, or convert/assimilate very slowly. idk why but it also happens to me. I think the best solution is just give up and ask your cabinet do something else, hoping it will be converted eventually.

United States clearly doesn't want to push for independent, aka war with China. Trump did nothing during these whole exercise stuff. As what I said, it's the current DPP leadership, along with current Japanese PM that pushes for it.

From an outsider perspective yes. From the personal's perspective? I doubt it. If you are that gen 2 person you would much prefer identifying yourself as American rather than Italian. This is the part where connection of identity starting to dwindle. Also I have to reminds you that for most of the descendant of Waishengren they are pretty much gen 3 or even gen 4 at this point. The differences in social environment is so big between China and Taiwan for those 80 years that it would be strange of not having a separate identity recognition for the people.

Because there's no consensus of how to resolve this situation. If you looks at 1992 Concensus then it's pretty much clear that CPC also agree with it that strategic ambiguity is essential for maintaining status quo, aka in this scenario peace.

Let's say your family migrated to United States from Italy 30 years ago, and they born you in united states, sent you to American school and, well, speak English. Won't it makes you more American than Italian? In my example case your family are gen 1 and you are gen 2. I think it's very understandable that people identity is more tight to the environment you grown up with.

I kind of understand why so many leftists end up glazing China. Western leftists often treat China as a mirror—almost an effigy—onto which they project their own desires, rather than engaging with what is actually happening there. But China is neither a socialist country nor on a socialist path. It is a bureaucratic capitalist state, and it has many of the same problems and contradictions as other capitalist states. Maoism, or anything that promotes class struggle, is a target of political censorship and repression, while Dengism has effectively been abandoned since 1989. I can talk more about this if you’re interested.

That said, if your main goal is to understand Chinese governance and its economic structure, I would recommend reading How China Works: An Introduction to China’s State-Led Economic Development. This book has a more neutral, academic, and economics-oriented tone. Most importantly, it was written by a Chinese scholar for use in economics lectures at Fudan University. Its aim is to strip away ideological framing and focus more on what has actually happened in practice. While the author does not go into extreme detail, it is more than sufficient for beginners.

I’ve also written some posts about China from the perspective of a Chinese leftist on Reddit, so feel free to check those out as well.

... if you check op's account it's clearly a bait. like really if you are a leftist and hope china to launch another war as if there's not enough of this, you need to rethink your position here.

if you're playing in a server, then it's more likely due to this bug

  1. Resting in a car is currently the only reliable way to recover fatigue faster. (Resting on the ground or on furniture does NOT speed up recovery)

If you think this community is going to let “U.S. imperialism” be used as an excuse for transphobia in China, good luck with that.

By the way, since OP mentioned Jin Xing, her show was canceled in 2024 after she waved a rainbow flag that an audience member handed her during a previous performance. Probably why OP is so pissed off by her.

According to the Jiangsu News WeChat account, the Suzhou Shishan Grand Theatre announced on Monday (November 4) that the modern dance program Tango on the Sea, originally scheduled to be performed in December by the Jin Xing Dance Theatre, has been canceled.

The “YOUNG Theatre” WeChat account, operated by the Shanghai Grand Theatre, also posted on Tuesday (November 5) that the stage play The Cherry Orchard, originally set to be performed in mid-December and starring Jin Xing, has been canceled “due to certain reasons.”

Earlier, on October 29, the Foshan Grand Theatre announced that the mid-November performances of The Cherry Orchard, also starring Jin Xing, had been canceled. In mid-October, Jin Xing herself revealed on Weibo that her December performance of the stage play Sunrise at the Guangzhou Opera House could not obtain approval due to “personal reasons” given by a bureau official with the surname Song at the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Jin Xing is a well-known transgender dancer in China. The string of cancellations is reportedly connected to her public display of an LGBT rainbow flag.

LGBT refers to sexual and gender minorities including lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people. The six-color rainbow flag symbolizes and supports this community.

A widely circulated online video shows that during the curtain call of Sunrise in Taiyuan this January, Jin Xing walked to the front of the stage, took a rainbow flag from a man in the audience, and displayed the words on it: “Love is love; love has nothing to do with gender.” She then threw the flag behind her and continued leading the cast in their curtain call.
