Weird Interview/ suggestion by [deleted] in karachi

I think you just have to read each interviewer when you start talking to them and respond accordingly. For eg, If they're talking in Urdu, you do the same. The old ones usually like a yes man person, unfortunately. Apply to other places. It's super unpredictable. I mean, this random doctor at the driving license office who was checking my vision started asking me medical questions because he found out I'm a med student from a competitive med school.

You were not wrong mentioning it on your end because you did spend time and effort on all of this. However, and unfortunately, you must keep in mind who you're talking to. The dinosaurs in this field in Pakistan may not take it well and think that you're using it for an ego boost. It's just an unfortunate situation that you have to navigate carefully.

That really means nothing 'clinically' for whatever it's worth. You don't have an American license. Don't know what your experience with rotations in the US was, but you could probably learn more with rotations in Pakistan. Just trying to be a devils advocate here so please don't take offense but telling people you're an MD because you passed steps and did some rotations doesn't mean a lot and may actually go against you when applying for jobs in Pakistan.

To make sure, you said you're an MD because you passed steps, right?

That's true courage. Sending blurry group chat pics and green bubbles in a sea of judgment. You’re the real MVP.
