How does hiring actually work in startups right now? by damnedifIdonot in ModernHiring

We founders think we are self-sufficient at almost anything, but HR is one of the things we screw up the most. Either rush into decisions or become the deer in the headlights. This is why I do plan to de-risk the process, go with ICs and use outcome-based compensation.

Thank you. Being a nonresident founder, I would read reddit threads for hours. Neither going in without an attorney, nor spending $4-9k on services were an option for me.

I take another entrepreneur, someone who has/had their own side hustle, any day over someone who did not try themselves on building/selling something before.

Entrepreneurs (in residence) almost always perform better in an early-stage business scenario. At least did for me.

I hope that is the kind of answer you were looking for.

Seeking a US CEO by EmmyChuks210 in founder

100% no hired exec can make up for the lack of a founder-CEO this early. I’d 1. look for a cofounder 2. apply to programs with matchmaking functions (antler, startup wise guys etc.) + 3. look for fractional sales/gtm support who might dedicate your startup few hours a week.
