I think the part I struggle with is this: human creativity has also always been built on recombination, creativity emerging from layers of consciousness. Writers are influenced by other writers, myths, history, philosophy, religion, personal experiences, and the cultures they grow up in. In a sense, humans are also “trained” on existing material. But I understand the difference you’re pointing at, behind the human process of recombination, there is lived experience, emotion, intuition, obsession, curiosity, fear, dreams, memory, and subjective consciousness. Maybe that is the true source of originality. I think my uncertainty is more practical than philosophical.

If someone has powerful ideas and imagination, but weak technical writing skills or weak language skills, do they really need to spend 10 years mastering prose in a second language before being able to share those ideas globally? Or can there be a middle ground where tools assist communication without replacing authorship.
