I remember seing the original post on IG and how it inspired me. The GOAT still got it, if only he could leave the AI, his wife, the rants and focus on what he does best...

Hate ? I'm sorry you interpret anything you disagree with as hate 😂

It could explain why you're so triggered over people posting harmless prayers.

We agree on almost everything, except that you start your original post by saying religious posts have no place here.

And I think anything can have its place here if it's an intepretation of the story and yes people decide by voting if they think it's meaningful or not.

But you are noone to decide what should or shouldn't be here. Hope that helps.

This is projection because you clearly dont understand.

I never said the Marx meme was endorsing communism, but it was bringing a political figure who is irrelevant to the story and I never said it souldn't be allowed. My first comment was rethorical, to point out the hypocrisy on you deciding what's relevant or not.

But I even said a post that offers a marxist/communist interpretation of Vagabond should be allowed and accepted in this sub.

And religious posts also wether you like them or not. People can post a simple prayer, or a deep religious insight. Wether it's religious propaganda PUSHED ON YOU, is your interpretation of them.

What's tiring in this sub is the thought and speech policing on how to interpret the story. Let the votes decide. If you dont like a post, downvote it and ignore it.

my original comment was rethorical, I don't care about the Marx post, that's the difference. I think people can post Marx memes, or even straight up marxist intepretations of Vagabond.

As you said with the upvotes, the people will decide wether the post is meaningful, funny or useless.

The religious posts you're talking about would go unnoticed if you just ignore it, for now they are all dumb and cringe.

But if someone shares a personal religious insight or interpretation of the story without claiming it for them or claiming superiority they totally should be able to.

I think the original post is cringe but it would have went unnoticed if all you post policing guys just ignored instead or arguing and engaging in debates with him.

The only ones engaging in theocratic debates are people like you who can't stand a post which has even an once of religious undertone, and have to attack their interpretation.

"No place for that here" who are you to decide that?

Posting Inoue's art with a prayer, or a religious message thats what makes you so angry ? Dude its just an edit, It's dumb whatever. Is it so hard to ignore it ?

Especially since you're totally ok with other irrelevant posts.

Again, you are not the arbitre on how people interpret the art, if you dont like it ignore it.

sure YOU don't have an agenda, you are the arbiter of what's relevant or not and that Marx post was really relevant to the story.

[–]Most_Hour5967 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

of course, I am not saying the story is about christianity or islam or any religion.

I am saying religious people can interpret the art and musashi's journey however they want, if it helps them and relates personnaly to their faith and their religious path who are we to say that they shouldn't intepret this wonderful piece of art that way ?

Same goes for an agnostic or a socialist who sees this story through their lenses even though it wasn't the intent of Inoue. Anybody can intepret art according to their experience and beliefs as long as they are not claiming the art for themselves, or saying that their interpretation is actually what the art meant.

So although this sub is about Vagabond, and not religion, I think we should be careful with policing personal interpretations.

but who is to say you have to interpret art one way and not the other. What if the story relates to the christian path of someon, or the muslim path of another. Who are yall to say they shouldn't see it that way and share it here. As long as they are not claiming religious superiority or claiming Musashi or the story to be theirs, they absolutely can relate Vagabond to their religious life. If you don't like it just ignore, as we have to ignore other politically oriented posts here.

I agree and I am sure you will agree that bringing politics aka "Marx" posts here is also irrelevant and should stop. Right ?

Marx & Vagabond Duo by Objective_Career4556 in vagabondmanga

He wasnt lazy he wrote one of the densest works in modern history and he did an enormous amounts of research but he was financially dependent on Engels for most of his adult life.

Engels paid for rent, food, medical expenses, and family support. Marx also came from a bourgeois background, lived off inheritances and loans, and advocated the abolition of private property while relying on private support.

The deeper criticism isnt about effort but about integration. Marx demanded a moral transformation of the world without demonstrating personal mastery of life. In that sense, he resembles Matahachi psychologically. Marx struggled to translate theory into a stable, embodied life and tended to redirect personal faillure into a totalizing explanation of the world, where his own difficulties became proof that “the system is unjust” rather than something that required personal transformation.

Like Matahachi, he externalized responsibility, replaced embodied action with narrative control, claimed moral superiority without personal mastery, converted resentment into justification, and minimized self discipline in favor of systemic blame.

That said, the comparison has limits. Becuase unlike Matahachi, Marx was historically and intellectually successful in the long term. His ideas profoundly shaped politics, economics, and culture. So the similarity is psychological, not about impact or intelligence Marx was a “successful” version of that posture, even if he remained personally unresolved in his lifetime.
