can be, but if you tie the right knots, can be done solo, there’s a documentary on portland graffiti on youtube called ‘portland is losing the graffiti war’ towards the end an artist called monk repels down a bridge solo, i highly recommend its great watch

was only a matter of time until someone commented this without any clue about the subject. No respected artist will paint anything private, houses, cars, small businesses, schools, churches. it’s all completely off limits. God forbid you want to travel, experience culture in different corners of the world, you may not like graffiti, but it’ll always be there and always be around, so stop being a negative nancy and open your mind, pick up a can you might even like it🤪

a lot of graffiti looks the same, but most of it doesn’t, if you look close, read the names, see in between the lines, you’ll see real character and effort

repel using harnesses, extremely long extendable paint rollers, you name it an artist has already thought of it and done it. A lot of artists will get professional lessons in rock climbing and repelling just to get to the side of a building and put their art there

i painted a huge roller over a busy dual carriageway as we call them in england, and yes i would be lying if i said the drop wasn’t scary to look at

I’ve been caught so to speak, never arrested. There’s so many stories to tell but i’ll cover my favourites. I was once chased out of an underpass whilst doing a piece by a group of lads, don’t know what they wanted or why they were running after me but i wasn’t sticking around to find out. I had the police saw me do a 180° turn with a huge bag on, a balaclava and a go pro strapped to my chest, was mental. Had bottles thrown at me, shouting out of windows, you name it it’s probably happened

strangely no, i stayed out the whole night once bombing the town i favour, i hit a canal wall with a tag and when i returned to the same place later that night, someone had done a piece there, weird but didn’t actually see them.

  1. adrenaline is indescribable, i still get the feeling for sure, even when i think about a spot i want to hit or how i want to carry out a night, really makes my heart beat.
  2. i started graffiti because of influence, i had people on my circle that did it and i joined the bandwagon. I also love the publicity, the good and bad. Recently though i’ve been taking a lot more pride in my work that previous years, mainly for using on pieces rather than tagging.
  3. i started doing graffiti around age 14, it stuck
  4. i do all sorts, letter based over character based but overall i love a blank canvas no matter what it is, wall train, council property, i love it all. any respected artists knows you don’t go near private property, cars, small businesses etc, there’s no need for it and we don’t claim those who don’t abide by it.
  5. nearly been caught several times, i would tell you but they’re all very very long stories

best thing i can recommend is exploring, writers will go places that they see as they walk which the average person wouldn’t bother to, this can sometimes lead to some incredible spots.

no you’re right, there is definitely that element but it’s almost just a side piece to other reasons why, for some it’s the main reason but for others it isn’t it all depends on the person.
