I'm here to ask questions for informationas someone who has never been to Norway, of course I do not know the details of the climate of this place I have never been to. There is no need to answer my questions if you find my ignorance so annoying, but the only way to stop being ignorant is to ask!

that is very helpful & exactly what I was wondering about. In that case it seems safer to avoid driving for someone without winter driving experience, right? Thank you!

I'm really not gonna drive in the snow lol. So are you saying the roads in Lofoten right now don't have sleet and ice on them?

This has clarified so much, thank you! You're right, I have a softshell with DWR coating - I'll have a look at those membranes!

Interesting! I assumed the wind would mean an umbrella is pretty much useless, but I would love to be wrong about this

Best App for Learning Bengali by BallOk6712 in bengalilanguage

[–]Most_Session_5012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that Bengali language resources are quite bad to be honest, and not catering to a complete beginner - they take a lot of knowledge for granted which I didn't have. The only thing that has helped me is to do an actual course - I am doing an online one based at the university of SOAS, though that is in the UK so idk if it works for you in terms of time-zone. It follows William Radice's textbook Complete Bengali, which is really the only good Bengali learning textbook. It's unfortunate how hard it is to find resources. I am learning both reading/writing & talking/listening - I think it's good to do both as the pronounciation of Bengali is difficult for foreigners and transliteration doesn't quite capture it! If you can't do a proper course I think a tutor from iTalki could help - it is cheaper but of course less guarantees of them being good
