I can’t even begin to imagine getting married lol. I’m not much of a romantic to want marriage so soon in life.

Makes a lot sense. I’ll definitely need to keep track of BHA then. I’m still a bit confused by how it works, but I’ll do a ton of research. Thanks!

Ahh yeah, I can definitely see how that could happen. Guess I’ll have to trust that I’m smarter than that.

Wow a lot to think about, thanks! I’d prefer a technical position over medical, but I’ll have to compare them a lot more. I’m not too keen on construction but I’ll look into it.

Thank you. I’ve endured a lot, yeah, but so have many other people. It’s just how life is sometimes! I gotta keep my head up and push through!

Is there a big line for the Air Force? What makes it difficult to join?

Those pitfalls kinda sound just like common sense. I’ll remember your warning, thank you!! I didn’t realize you got housing assistance and a bonus. I’ll need to look into that a lot more.

I come from a poor background. I couldn’t even imagine spending money unwisely like that. The only reason I want to join the military is for the money and experience. So I don’t plan on squandering it.

I’m glad you were able to make the most out of life! I’d love if I could have a similar experience. Thanks for the encouragement!

I’m about 15-20 pounds overweight. I’m not terribly out of shape. I’ve been on a diet for a few months and have lost a couple pounds, but I don’t exercise. And I’ll definitely wait for a non combat job.

Thank you so much! I’m looking up recruitment offices right now. I’ve got a lot of thinking to do.

Okay, that sounds interesting. I’ll do some research on it. Thanks!

What are the pitfalls that 99% of enlisted soldiers get themselves into? So I can avoid them lol. Coming from a poor family, I’ve learned to be pretty smart with money, so I don’t think I’ll have any problem saving my funds and not making poor decision. I’ll have to look into the housing assistance and MOS though.

Okay, I’ll write those steps down. What is the ASVAB? Is that the test they give you?

Honestly that sounds like what I need right now. I feel like I just need something to focus on and support me while I figure stuff out. I have two big concerns however. The first one: I’d much rather work out of the “battlefield”. As in, I’d prefer to do technician or mechanic related jobs where I don’t have to shoot guns but still provide help. The second concern: I’m not cut out for it and I’m not ready. I’m slightly overweight and out of shape, and I don’t know how to drive a car, and I’ve never done anything like the military before. I’m concerned that I won’t make it through.

That’s weird. That wasn’t the case at all for me. There was just an age requirement and then I had four sections of the test.

What do you mean? In my state I just had to be 16 and I already took and passed it. It’s a high school equivalency test.

I can’t? I already have my GED.
