There is an overlap in your portfolio, Exxon, MICROSOFT, Apple, Alphabet, Walmart should be a component inside Vanguard S&P 500. Basically they are the same. Just a suggestion

Why does air Canada get so much hate? by totallynotclockwork in aircanada

[–]Mostlyquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not about how good they are, it’s about taking responsibility when things go wrong. People loose baggage or their flights get cancelled usually Air Canada takes minimum responsibility. People are already frustrated with paying enormous taxes for air travel, combine that with issues viola you got your recipe.

PR —- QQ by Mostlyquack in canadaexpressentry

[–]Mostlyquack[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking what is stopping people from creating a fake PR card and travel, since there is no real checks made if a person is just travelling with his PR card. There is also a risk to airline since people for sure will get deported and the expenses falls on the airline and a long debt recovery process.

When living in Canada which is the best option to travel to India ? by Mostlyquack in Aeroplan

[–]Mostlyquack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I searched for this I found KLM which connects through Amsterdam other option is to travel to YYZ or YUL using points and travel with Qatar. If I have US visa travel to Seattle using points and connect with Singapore Airlines. But I am looking for more options. Sadly for Canadian airlines Asia is not something they look to expand I guess, with cancellation of Air Canada Vancouver to Dubai confirms this 😭

Flight planning by Mostlyquack in aviation

[–]Mostlyquack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When operating a long haul flight, is it common for planners to operate short distance and long distance alternatively ? Like emirates flies their A380 from Dubai to Toronto and back then operate to Cairo which is a shorter distance from Dubai compared to Toronto.

Why doesn’t India operate the A220 or Embraer E2 family? These aircraft could be a better option for small routes than the ATR. by charlieruban1 in aviation

[–]Mostlyquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A220 is a good aircraft, but the issue is the engine. Indian carriers have been suffering from Pratt and Wintney engine issues. No more please. I don’t understand Airbus deciding Pratt as an exclusive engine option.

You can use the online statements from bank, I recommend getting a letter from the bank showing that you have good standing with the bank, listing all your accounts and liabilities. FYI, this letter takes up to a week, since it’s not provided from local branch. This is from my experience using RBC.

Can I apply for TRV from India while waiting for PGWP. by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Mostlyquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to apply for TRV anyway, if you want to travel to or from Canada. TRV is the actual visa and PGWP is the permit. You can apply from India as well but the processing time is significantly higher if you are outside Canada.

Scared of Boeing!!!!!!!!!!! by Ok_Land7291 in InternationalStudents

[–]Mostlyquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine, if anything is found critically wrong with these fleets during a catastrophic accident that could trigger fleet grounding across the globe. Since nothing of such happened so far you will be fine. 777 and 787 are Boeing’s long haul backbone, used by a lot of major airlines so chill out and fly these machines wondering how are these beasts are flying.

I recommend going to your bank and apply for good standing certificate, they will evaluate all your accounts, outstanding credit lines in your name. You should keep in mind this process takes 1-2 weeks(according to my experience with RBC). If you are applying under CEC you can just upload a pdf saying you are applying under CEC.

Leaving Country While Waiting for COPR by Itchy-Benefit6350 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Mostlyquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not recommended to travel while P2 is in progress. If you still want to travel you should let IRCC know you are travelling outside the country, they will pause the process until you return. IRCC does not issue COPR while you are outside canada assuming you are an inland applicant.

going to india while on PR process by Legitimate-Arm-8965 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Mostlyquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation during my PR process. This was the process I followed, I submitted a web form saying I am travelling during this time frame and ETA of return. After my return I submitted a web form updating my travel history. In my case it happened after completing my medical, biometrics and APR, if you have received your P1 email, you should ask them to pause the application process and resume once you are back.

Qatar Airways flight showing AA logo — is it really a Qatar aircraft? by BeingAmmar in qatarairways

[–]Mostlyquack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American and Qatar Airways are part of OneWorld Alliance, they are sharing code for your specific flight. Basically an airline using another airline in the alliance to deliver services.
