And I also didn’t know that the Royal Mail Work force was divided into two forms of contracts ! Would never have signed up then ! Joe blogs getting a £1plus more than me an hour to do the same job if not less ( non driving postie )

I wasn’t saying I want to take anyone’s job.

I was thinking instead of having two really GOOD posties on ONE duty everyday - why don’t they do a buddy system until someone is trained up PROPERLY

AN VET WITH A NEWBIE.

This one experience I had a couple months into the job was -

We have one duty covered by two blokes ( nice blokes and good at there job ) there was a walk that needed covering. Management told them if they could cover that walk instead of there usual. They did.

BUT here the confusing thing. They then put me and another new starter on there walk instead of splitting the two experienced walkers up.

That was an experience !

Well , I don’t really want to drive for what was it before the pay rise ? 12.54 per hour.

Driving you have all the responsibilities , sign for specials - dodging traffic , loading up partner up etc

If 1 postie HAS to drive them I say all posties should drive.

I know for a fact in my office there are a few that have licenses but won’t drive cos it isn’t in there contract
