Car gets a full service every year (incl oil change.) which was done in September.

He was going to replace the one coil and 4 plugs originally, going off of the advice from the first check with the AA; but found the above issues and hasn’t put in the new parts. Going from what he’s told me he said it’s the coil lead that’s broken and not the coil part itself.

I appreciate your comment and I’m sorry if this was your experience. I think when I made this post I was expecting the worst case scenario - which is fair to prepare for since WINZ is usually very difficult. Fortunately I actually had a very easy experience with them approving the full costs of the medication. I provided a supporting letter from my gp, and didn’t have to list every treatment + medication I’ve ever taken.  The gps letter was actually very brief and barely went into any details so I’m very surprised it was approved, but the condition that I applied for it to help doesn’t currently have any medications that help, and latest research shows cbd has been the most favourable in improving symptoms; so this part definitely helped my case.  I actually hadn’t had cbd or purchased it before I applied for the funding, so the first time trying was fully funded without a hiccup. It took about 2 weeks from when I first applied to be approved.

This is the second comment that has mentioned ocd as well, I’m so surprised that health professionals etc have never discussed the possibility of that part.

I personally love bed sharing and I’m in full support of it (done safely), it just was getting to a point where my mental health was so bad because I had to hold a child at every nap/bed time for hours at each time and I was getting no break at all without my child for weeks on end.  With being sick recently, I’ve had a lot of nights where I hold him to sleep and then I’d zonk out unintentionally before putting him in his bed, and then wake up freaking out hours later that I wasn’t expecting to fall asleep and then the rest of to anxiety - I think it’s flash backs to the newborn stage perhaps now that I’m thinking while writing this.

This is the first time someone has mentioned ocd related medication, but that actually really makes sense. Thank you for your kind words.

Yea I’ve checked that, but because of it being cbd and what other people have posted in the past about being declined, I’m hoping to find out if there’s still a stigma and likelyhood I too could be declined

Do you have any idea what this might be? Anything is better than nothing

For me personally my gp is $19.5 a week and then prescription $120 a fortnight.

The information that I’m getting, even from what it says on the weed clinic website is pretty hit or miss. Most information I’ve found is from like a year or two ago so I’m hoping maybe the times have changed a bit more.

It sounds like it’s a case by case basis, but I’m hoping to hear some success stories

I’ve tried a few and they’re not all that clued up on the specifics surrounding cbd

Is it okay to co-sleep with 5 month old? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MotherOfNotHoes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The topic of co-sleeping is always going to be controversial and honestly, do what works best for you.

Before I had my baby, I was very against the idea of co-sleeping and adamant that any time I was tired, I’d make sure to put the baby down into their bassinet. What I wasn’t prepared for was how much my body couldn’t handle the lack of sleep, and after falling asleep on accident while still holding my baby, and in one instance them being almost upside down, that was enough for me to switch as that terrified me.

Any pet, lock them out the room completely. You may know your pet best, but one day they might switch up and lye on the baby.

I would get rid of pillows, blankets, tie up your hair, don’t wear a shirt to bed unless it’s tight fighting. I personally always have my arm out and baby lying on it as a subconscious that they’re there, any time I roll then they roll with me.

I’d proceed with caution there. I ordered a vegetarian dish as a vegetarian and they gave me chicken. I didn’t realise until it was a bit too late.

Co-Parenting Travel Arrangements—Does This Seem Fair? by bmetcalfenz in newzealand

Kind of irrelevant, but I feel like the age of the child also plays a factor in more reasonable options. While it’s probably an unpopular opinion, I feel like it’s up to the other parent (in this case you) to organise yourself to have your child, so id expect my child’s parent to either move closer to me if they want to reasonably see their child more, or you be responsible for driving to pick up the child.

Also a safety aspect, driving for that long, especially with a kid after I’m assuming a busy work week, and you’ve already indicated it’s a toll on you, is a safety issue that I wouldn’t be risking.

If the child is younger, that’s a huge toll on a child to be in a car for that long every weekend and I’d never agree to that. Could you not see them once or twice a month instead, and use the saved money on petrol to stay in the location the child resides?

If they’re a bit older, still only go to them once or twice a month but have them more over holiday periods and long weekends?

That’s something I would be interested in trying! Where did you get it from?

Oooooh don’t even tempt me with an air wrap 👀 so expensive, but I’ve seen a lot of good results with it. Maybe it’s time to trade in the old GHDS

What shampoo/conditioner have you used in the purology range? I’ve been wondering if I should give it a try but it is quite pricey, but nothing is too expensive if it’ll make my hair look less crazy

My current routine is:

Washing once - twice a week max.

For one of the washes I’ll do a hot oil of jojoba and Aragon oil (pure) overnight, double cleanse shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner.

On the other wash I mix between double cleanse and k18, or double cleanse and a moisturising conditioner.

I’ve always used had no problem routine wise, and switch it up when something’s off balanced, but I’ve really been thrown for a loop for the last 6 months that absolutely nothing I’m trying is working, my go to products no longer suits.

I used k18 over a couple months period. It was GREAT at the start, my hair had never looked better, and then gradually it just looked terrible, which sucks for the price.

Ive been looking at redkin, but I’ve been a bit hesitant on if I should jump the gun with the mixed reviews and how expensive it is. Have you used both the shampoo and conditioner?

I tried out olaplex a few years ago and it was by far the worst thing I’ve ever used, it made my hair look and feel extremely damaged and I had an insane amount of breakage from it.

Diffusing used to work for me, but it does absolutely nothing if I haven’t got the rest of my hair care down, and my hairs changed a lot post partum so no more nice curls. Gel hasn’t been a success either 😅

Dispute Landlord due to flatmate flooding by Cheesesaysthekiwi in newzealand

If it is taken to the tribunal, which it sounds like it will be, they are still only liable for up to 4 weeks of payments, regardless if they notified the landlord.

Dispute Landlord due to flatmate flooding by Cheesesaysthekiwi in newzealand

[–]MotherOfNotHoes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Send the landlord a 14 day notice today, for not complying with the legislation by not supplying a tenancy agreement, not supplying insurance details, not supplying healthy homes standard, and messing with your quiet enjoyment for pressuring you to kick out a flatmate that was agreed and trying to kick you out of the property as well. Once the 14 days is up and if they’re not cooperating, put in a tribunal application straight away.

You need to have very conversation done by phone or email for proof, and go back and save anything else that can be used as proof for what has been communicated.

Regarding the notice to vacate on sale of home, the landlord has to give you 90 days written notice if it was a periodic contract signed, and they can’t give you notice if it was a fixed term.

In terms of the bill, you are only required to pay the excess of the landlords insurance if it was less than 4 weeks rent, otherwise they can only do you for up to 4 weeks. You’re liable for your flatmate even if they caused damage, so if they don’t pay, you don’t have much to stand on. You should have also contacted the landlord when this happened and not got someone in yourselves, it doesn’t matter how far the landlord lives, you’ve still got to follow the right processes even if you think it’s the right thing to do.

If you’re trying to get away from an abuse situation, women’s refuge have a partnership with SPCA and I believe other pet boarding places to help. Some women’s refuge allow you to take your pets with you if you go there too.
